Is dicipling a child physically child abuse?

I feel like parents have the right to discipline their children and its their job to teach them from right to wrong to keep them safe in the long run. Its all about teaching them values and morals for when they grow older and without it, they wont gain the skills to become responsible adults later on in life. I think it absolutely depends on the kid. With just a stern look my sister would learn her lesson and never do it again. I was the problem child. Time outs?....please I would just sing songs and imagine things, talking to's?....naw I faded out. A swift swat on the bottom? Ok I got it. I think if it's only used as the last method tried and NEVER done while the parent is angry it's fine. There is a line between physical abuse and spanking. |
