The enhanced interrogation techniques used on our enemies were found by the DOJ to be legal. Our government has done what is necessary to protect us from terrorists. When we are in a war against terrorists who have no limits to their behavior, we must do what is needed. Our ideals and values were not compromised. Side: Yes

Found to be legal? Are you kidding, that stinks of Nixon's comment of how if the president does it, it is not illegal. You're okay with the people in charge changing the laws to do anything they want? You do realize, we tortured many suspected terrorists that we later let go and weren't actually terrorists? So you're okay with torturing innocent people, who's next? Suspected domestic criminals, is it okay to torture them too? You are wrong if you believe it has worked to help protect us. It has had the completely opposite effect and has been used by those same terrorist (that you're afraid of) as a recruitment tool. Side: No
Yes it happens legitimately every day we listen to Parliament question time in the House of Representatives on the TV However, with due respect to your question let us take a look around the Tower of London dungeon in London to see what we used to do in past centuries. What we do now is mild by comparison, so we have advanced, however does it not answer the question. Is it acceptable to torture to produce an outcome that saves lives Is it acceptable for the greater good Are there non violent ways of achieving the same outcome Unless we first answer these questions we can never answer if it is OK Side: Yes
