Is it even POSSIBLE to have a civil discussion about abortion on CD?

Yes

VS.

No

Side Score: 11

I think if both parties agree to mutual respect, it can be done. I am friends with people of all kinds of beliefs.

Side: Yes

Through out history there have been civil debates over atrocities such as Concentration camps, ethnic cleansing etc. Governments do it all the time.

Abortions is yet one more atrocity to the most innocent of life.

To defend the indefensible, Pro Choice people will always bring up life of mother examples when the facts show the VAST majority of abortions never have a thing to do with life of mother.

In the same way I'm sure, other tyrants through out the ages have used extreme examples of why particular groups of people deserved to die.

Can there be civil discussions with those who think they have the right to end an innocent life? i suppose there has to be in order to help stop the inhumanity.

I'm not arguing I'm just saying, if the fetus is in her (which it kind of has to be for this to be taking place anyway) it is affecting the life of the mother. Not always harmfully, not always even in an actual affecting kind of way, but generally so long as the thing is in her it's affecting her.

No, but civil discussions are over rated anyway.

Side: No

Not on CD, and not anywhere for that matter- unless those taking part in the discussion are all already on the same side, which kind of renders it pointless.

No, due to the fact it is such a sensitive issue. It has been debated probably more than any other subject on here. And it is one of the most heated issues. Both sides have good facts supporting their motive to the point that they are going to defend their view no matter what.

Side: No

no but its much better then it used to be.
