Is it possible for Tibet to gain independence from Peoples Republic of China?

All Tibetans want independence from China. It all started in 1950 when Mao Zedong made a plan to integrate Tibet into PRC(Peoples Republic of China). But this was not acceptable for the 14th Dalai Lama. He started the Tibetan uprising in 1959 in which he was supported by India, USA,UK, Republic of China and Soviet Union. Although the Dalai Lama was defeated by Mao Zedong and fled to India. Following his footsteps, many Tibetans also fled to India as of today, there are many Tibetan refugees in India. Since then, all Tibetans want an independent Tibet. So what is your opinion about this? Is it possible?

It is possible. How did India get independence from Britain? They had to go through many things to get independence. Many Indians had emerged as freedom fighters and sacrificed their life for India. And finally in 1947, Mahatma Gandhi, who had to go through many things, got India Independence. Same way, if Tibet goes through these steps, they might achieve independence.

Don't place any bets on it.

China is in an expansionist mood and seems more intent in ''appropriating'' more territories than surrendering them back to their rightful owners.

The will of the Tibetans is of little or no interest to the Chinese.

On a scale of 1 to 100 the possibility of that happening is minus one million.

There was a survey conducted by the TGIE (Tibetan exiles) in Tibet around 2008. 17,000 Tibetans were interviewed randomly, and only a fraction (29%) wanted independence. Also note that this was during a time when anti-China sentiment in Tibet was high due to unrest. I'm pretty sure Tibet won't be getting any "independence" soon.
