Is it possible to travel in time? Atleast, in future?

the Physics says it has got 4 dimension, 4th one being time. Altough it has been accepted by every one, but no one has ever actually travelled in time. the modern day fictions are entirely based on time, directly or indirectly.

Every instant, of every day you are traveling through time. Einstein's Theory of Relativity says that every particle has a velocity whose components add up to the speed of light. If you are standing completely still your average velocity is the speed of light in the direction of positive time. Now, the question of time travel, that is to reverse one's temporal component of velocity, that is theoretically possible, at least according to some solutions of Einstein's equations. But is it achievable? Maybe, maybe not.

Still the point here is that you, and everything else in the universe with mass are currently traveling through time. Photons, and presumably other particles like them are an exception, since their entire velocity is devoted to traveling through the spatial dimensions, of which there are three or more, have no temporal velocity.

Also, according to he Special Relativity, Einstein postulated that nothing can travel 100% the velocity of light except light itself.

I travel to the future every second of everyday. I just can't get back to any specific point in time in the past. ;)

yes, i think we can.though we don't have any modern technology to travel in time, i believe that in future, we might find such a technology.

excluding time machines, it is aid that wormholes are a source of time travel

Eucledian Space Time Says there 4 dmesion 2 bi directional 1 omni directional and one Temporal(Agknowledging distance and time.)

Time was invented by cognitive perception do too distance and travel and need to keep scedual. Carbon dating is a falsity do too the make up of an atom...its inards dispear and are replaced...we dont know what happens too them...they chould die to move threw light in possible 5th demension reconizing probability(either chaos or order) possibly inflicted by the structure they form.

Its also a known fact that when we went too the moon upon return there astronauts were 30 some odd minutes younger than everyone else...easy turn on for surpacing the speed of light...so tecnicly if we were too travel in this Infinidemsional existance...space/time travel whould be everyday life...moving threw time/imortality/space travel...all capable in ones own body...tho laws must still be applied itd make a pretty badass society...also pretty mutch solves all relgious debates by agreeing and adding new enligtenment...tho the average Man hold himself back for fear of acidently ending up inside of a sun or something...Bi-nary stars are purley energy...violet stars...super giants...like i giant high way or flying spagheti monster...you know...as mutch as perception whould alow...as far as i know nothings more destructive then light itself..so keep your form whould be a complicated thing...See the movie District 9 and the russian character Ж(sounds like S...or as I learnt it sh from the only fluent russian girl ive ever met)

Hey guys, I think that if time is a dimension, then there is a door way for the time travel!

But every thing is not available at hand, you must find the key to the door way!

Side: Yes, we can

Of course it's possible. Its too long to explain but have a look at mallet's theory.

If were were to "travel through time" it would be into another dimension. There are many different theories on time, and dimensions are defined in about a thousand different ways.

The theory i'm currently referring to is the idea is that ALL moments in time have already occurred and what we do is live out those moments unaware of the fact that it has already happened. Our minds do not work on that scale, so we can never experience the true forms.

If we could travel to the future, it would be to another dimension where the occurrence is currently happening. Nothing more.

I don't find this theory to be concrete, but I felt like getting it out there just for the hell of it.

Pyg you're talking about realities not dimensions. Space-time has a minimum of four dimensions but some theories speculate that there are up to eight dimensions that are curled up at a quantum level and so we don't perceive them. A dimension is a plane of movement, on a macro scale we have three spatial dimensions (up/down, left/right, and forward/back) and one temporal dimension which seems to move in a linear direction only. As for alternate realities I can't say that I've ever heard of a scientific theory that discusses them but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The idea had to come from somewhere I suppose. What you're saying does seem plausible, essentially it's the same idea as the Uncertainty Principle, and the concept of non-locality, only on a macro scale.

Actually, when referring to the dimensions in space/time, there could be an infinite amount.

Refer to string theory, which invokes that there is a 10th dimension which is currently impossible to understand, but, there are still more dimensions than that.

Your fourth dimension theory only refers to the existence of time itself. Suggesting that time does exist and that the fourth dimension is our progression through time. But in geometry, the fourth dimension would simply be an object with an added dimension (length, width, height, ???).

I do not thing it is possible because it would clearly violate the conservation of mass. Also at this time relativity has not truly demonstrated that true time is changing. Take this little thought experiment: a train is moving close to the speed of light so that there exists an of hour of time dilation. then is runs over man on the track. Clearly there would be collision (interaction between the man and the train) thats the whole point of thought experiment an obvious conclusion. This believe it or not prove a hell of allot for relativity. Because the train in in a different time (one hour's difference) than the man. For example you are sitting right where someone else was at a different time (i.e. two objects can co-exist at the same place at different times). You also look at it this way those experiment that show differences between atomic clocks. Well if they truly achieve time travel then it would be impossible to show a difference between two atomic clocks. This clear means that the measurement of time is change while time itself is remains fixed. Einstein said that (time is what you measure with a clock, clocks change therefore time change) this statement is not true. Therefore time travel is very questionable. Anyone who disagrees with this variation of relativity will be able to debate the issue soon.

Time travel is impossible. It is nice to fantasize about it.
