In order for something to originally have been a debate there must actually have been the opportunity for debate to happen. Otherwise it was just a topically themed soapbox. To copy the topic in order to actually for debate is arguably creating a debate where there was none before. Side: Yes

Obviously if someone copies another person's deabte, they did not "CREATE" a debate. For copying to be allowed is simply unbelievable. It totally goes against the concept of people creating their own debates in their own words. It truly destroys the character of a debate site. Side: No

Actually it does none of that. The copied debate is still unequivocally your debate. You are credited, and all of your words are used (and no others). The only thing it does is prevent you from being able to silence how people react to it, which is entirely in line with the concept of a debate website. Side: Yes
