If you create a debate that has the same topic as one before, you are still creating a debate. The thing is that the debate you created is not original.

In order for something to originally have been a debate there must actually have been the opportunity for debate to happen. Otherwise it was just a topically themed soapbox. To copy the topic in order to actually for debate is arguably creating a debate where there was none before.

Was it a debate that was created? Yes.

The real question is: is it a debate if opposing ideas are not allowed to be expressed?

Side: Yes

Obviously if someone copies another person's deabte, they did not "CREATE" a debate. For copying to be allowed is simply unbelievable. It totally goes against the concept of people creating their own debates in their own words.

It truly destroys the character of a debate site.

Not allowing others to debate the topic goes against the idea of a debate website far more than copying does.

Total hogwsh from a person who deserves to get banned. Gee I wonder why you are all for copying.

Actually it does none of that. The copied debate is still unequivocally your debate. You are credited, and all of your words are used (and no others). The only thing it does is prevent you from being able to silence how people react to it, which is entirely in line with the concept of a debate website.
