Well, second-hand morality is on a decline. yes. But is that a bad thing? I'm a big advocate for thinking for yourself, and it's about time we think independent from influence.

Yes if you take a look around clearly morality is declining at a rapid rate. Right after the super storm Sandy people started looting, they were riding around in boats in the cover of darkness stealing stuff, hurting people, and vandalizing. That is just one of many cases of morality declining in this country.

Many kids in my grade are, pardon my language, a bunch of ass holes who don't give a shit about others. Truely, there are a ton of kids who are realy bad to eachother. Why? i don't know or care. I just stay away and makesure that my children have good morals.

If you look at per captia crime rates in the US here http://www.census.gov/compendia/statab/2012/tables/12s0306.pdf crime rates are going down. Not sure if that's a good indication of morality or not?

If you take out all the "contentious" moral issues and stick to say "beating your spouse is morally wrong" or "judging someone by the color of their skin is morally wrong" then I would say morality is NOT on the decline.

If you include contentious issues like "premarital sex is morally wrong" then you could say that at least some peoples definition or morality is on the decline. But, the main reason those contentions moral issues are on the decline is because more people just don't believe it's morally wrong anymore.

Morality is not defined by what the government says is moral. Neither what the popular opinion is.

Side: Yes

Society changes and so do morals. What was taboo in the past is no longer verboten.
