Absolutely! I mean some porn movies are really just corny as hell, but there are some that do amazing things with the human body. And the human body alone is art, I think even sex can be art in a way.

Well, art is such a thrown around word and really, it just depends on how you view art.

But as an artFORM, I can totally see porn being one. It's an artform that appeals to our sexuality. The snobby elitists will see that since we jerk-off to porn, there's no way that it can be art. Sure, you can paint a picture of a nude woman (and it can even be kind of sexy), but rarely is the case that it will be sexy enough for anyone to want to beat-off to it.

But truly, when porn industries like X-Art and VivThomas come to light, it makes me see the potential behind making porn very beautiful.

X-Art fascinates me mainly with it's cinematography. Excellent angles, HD utilization and close-ups that really look good (especially when I'm stoned). The acting is kind of similar to most porn actresses, but I feel that the director keeps them from using too much "oh yeah, fuck me, my pussy's all wet" and smutty things like that.

VivThomas is a lot like directing a movie. I can see how the scenes are actually planned out to look very sexual. It isn't like many other porn studios that basically just direct the positions (the director will most likely just tell them to do another position and then finish with a money shot) and then edit the work to show the best scenes, but it seems (keep in mind, I haven't done any "behind the scenes" research... yet) that the women and men are told to do very specific things to make the scene look more like a porno devoted to acting and planning.

And then things like BangBus and BackroomCouch which are purposefully done to look like they're scamming these women. I'll spoil it for some of you, but it's all scripted. However, for most of those films they look pretty realistic.

Those four examples are what I see as the art existing within porn. Sure, Brazzers, Vivid and BangBros are just smut, but I would say that they are more like The Expendables and Transformers while the artsy porn is more like Black Swan and Three Colors.

I've always thought the human body was quite beautiful, in both sexual manners and otherwise. The human body is quite complex and it is extremely fun to explore (yes I probably sound like some weird sex pervert right now, but it is totally unintentional). So sure, why shouldn't it be considered a form of art?
