Without faith in God, and I'm talking about the Christian faith, we see the results of a culture with no hope. They live the anything goes, if it feels good do it lifestyles because they believe these few years of life on Earth are all there is. So for how long does that depressing belief that this is all there is, play itself out in our lives? How long does that fun anything goes lifestyle last before reality sets in? How many girls do you sleep with before the first one gets pregnant, and if you have any compassion for her or your Baby at all, you instantly lose that if it feels good do it freedom. There will always be consequences for your actions. Look at our welfare roles FILLED with unwed mothers and NO FATHER supporting the child. Do they look like they are living the good life? Are those fatherless chidren having the good life with no hope for the future? Look at the mothers filled with guilt after the abortions. How's that young man doing living it up, getting drunk, taking drugs, losing his job. Life's not much fun when you have no money and no driver's license from drunk driving, or insanely high car insurance premiums from past accidents, drunk driving, etc. With a faith in God and the wisdom and moral values derived from that faith, life can be a beautiful thing. These Christian values many times keep people from the pitfalls of life whether it be sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. If something bad does happen, the hope of a better time and place keeps the depression from consuming a person. Hope is a wonderful thing, and for all the bigots who laugh at Christians, call them idiots for beliving in a fairy tale, etc. etc....... tell me, how comforting is that welfare check and those cold nights without someone who truly loves you by your side. Without faith in God, and I'm talking about the Christian faith, we see the results of a culture with no hope. They live the anything goes, if it feels good do it lifestyles because they believe these few years of life on Earth are all there is. Is that why there is less violence, less poverty, less racism, less drug use, less teen poverty, etc? So for how long does that depressing belief that this is all there is, play itself out in our lives? How long does that fun anything goes lifestyle last before reality sets in? How many girls do you sleep with before the first one gets pregnant, and if you have any compassion for her or your Baby at all, you instantly lose that if it feels good do it freedom. There will always be consequences for your actions. That doesn't follow. Atheism does not require or generally lead to hedonism. Look at our welfare roles FILLED with unwed mothers and NO FATHER supporting the child. Do they look like they are living the good life? Are those fatherless chidren having the good life with no hope for the future? Not particularly, but the overwhelming majority of them are Christian. Look at the mothers filled with guilt after the abortions. Some are, some aren't. How's that young man doing living it up, getting drunk, taking drugs, losing his job. The young man that's getting drunk, taking drugs and keeping his job is doing pretty well. Seems like the lack of a job is what leads to a lack of hope. Life's not much fun when you have no money and no driver's license from drunk driving, or insanely high car insurance premiums from past accidents, drunk driving, etc. That's true irrelevant of whether or not someone is Christian. Hope is a wonderful thing, and for all the bigots who laugh at Christians, call them idiots for beliving in a fairy tale, etc. etc....... tell me, how comforting is that welfare check and those cold nights without someone who truly loves you by your side. What percentage of atheists do you believe are poor? Because generally speaking, atheists are more economically well off than Christians in America (http://www.pewforum.org/2012/10/09/ Side: no it is not necessary
LMMFAO ! You said what ? "Because generally speaking, atheists are more economically well off than Christians in America". Well then all of Americans should be atheist and the economy would really be dooming right ? How well does the ignorance that you said work in Progressive run cities like Chicago , Detroit and Baltimore ? Side: yes it is necessary

I believe it is important to believe in the one true God. Sometimes you can hear the holy spirit talk to you. Whether you want to admit it the holy spirit lives inside you telling you right from wrong. whenever your heart hurts from doing something wrong that is the holy spirit inside you telling you you have done wrong. Most people ignore it but I chose to lesson because I know my life is better by praying. God and Jesus are HOPE! Without God you would not be hear and I would not. I thank God EVERYDAY HE let me live another day. The Lord that created the earth, the solar system, everything inside the earth, and all humans. God is hope he created heaven and he already knows who is going to heaven and how is going to the underworld being tortured. You could not do anything without God. We should all be going to the underworld but Jesus came and died on the cross to save us all from our sins. He is a marvelous Lord. I can not wait to meet my heavenly Father. You may not believe in God, but who made you? Did you make yourself? I would really like to know. Did Adam and Eve make each other? God knows what you think before you think it he watches you. He knows how much hair you have. If you just pray to him he CAN solve anything. God is the almighty heavenly wonderful God. He is sending Jesus done to gather all Gods people and what a day it will be. (thats a biblical song just incase you did not know.) One day the world is coming to an end and it is whenever God is ready for his children to come home and be in heaven forever. Side: yes it is necessary

For me it was the rescue of Apollo 13 which demonstrated how expertise, skill, good communications and a belief in oneself and team members is worth a trillion prayers to some mythical man made god. If there are a hundred crazed Muslim terrorists charging you wielding machetes', do you run like blue blazes or pray to God? Side: no it is not necessary

I have more "HOPE" than most Christian conservatives, and no religion. I HOPE that those who hate our government move to another country with a government they can live with. Hmmmm, now where would THAT be??? Canada? Naw, they've got government Health Care. England?? Probably not .... too many "liberals" there also. Iran? Well, just ONE accepted religion, that's a good thing for conservatives. China? Hmmm, they DO know how to screw other countries, and keep themselves from being screwed, kind of a "Trump" on steroids. I don't know.... some people just don't know when they've got it good! Side: no it is not necessary
Religion lays guidelines or some would say foundation of following good practices to do good, feel good, hence be content and peaceful in life. Every religion imparts wisdom on how can we be better humans and behave rightfully in any circumstances. religion builds one's conscious. Hope is more of a personality trait - to be hopeful or pessimistic. Had there been no religion, im sure humans would still be hopeful/not hopeful. Side: no it is not necessary
Religion asserts certain things as good without having to prove that they are in any way, so it in no way follows that they lead to contentment or peace. Every religion imparts a dogma largely resistant to reason and therefore antithetical to true wisdom. Religion retards the conscious by limiting the realm of consideration to what is pre-asserted and confirmed without cause. I do at least agree that people would still be deluded with optimism without religion, but it certainly has not helped. Side: no it is not necessary
The people of France have hope. The people of America, of Syria, of Iraq, of ISIS, ALL have hope. Religion has no corner on that market! I think we would have far better "hopes" if we didn't have to convince others that our "religion" is the only way to go! That IT is the "only hope". Removing religious conflict from this world would give us ALL more hope. Side: no it is not necessary

The world would be a sad place if we lost our God and the truth is he is going to end the world one day and need to make people aware. Because there is a Heaven and the underworld. Who made you? Did Santa make you? I do not think so. GOD CREATED YOU AND ME! Removing religion would have the opposite affect. It says in the Bible everyone will turn against christians and I see it happening everyday. But I standing with my heavenly father no matter what and no matter what you or anyone else says it will not change my opinion. You can believe whatever you want and I will believe what I want. But seriously who do you think made you Santa? Side: yes it is necessary
