It was originally created when the founding fathers did not trust the common man to elect people to run the country so they decided to limit their power. Despite this being a complete affront to democracy, it has become an even bigger hindrance today. I like to compare it to the appendix. It is completely vestigial now, and can sometimes cause problems. For example when the majority of the country elected Gore in 2000, but Bush became president. It serves no purpose, and can only do harm. It's high time to get rid of it. Side: No
