Of course the cost is well worth the results.

Let's look at this logically. At the time I checked the above link, the estimated cost of the war was $545,172,118,650. That's five-hundred-forty-five billion, one-hundred-seventy-two million, one-hundred-eighteen thousand, six-hundred-fifty dollars. At this point, an individual might be thinking:

"omg, that is the biggest number ever, and I can't even wrap my mind around that enormous, insane figure."

Let me help you here. First of all, let us think about what this war has accomplished. The same website referenced above, zfacts.com estimates 100,000 Iraqi casualties since the start of the war in 2003. This breaks down to 20,000 deaths a year, or 54 deaths daily. I don't know about you, but I feel safer going to bed knowing that there are fifty-four less radical islamo-fascists since the last time I went to sleep.

Of course I'm aware, that many of these deaths are considered "civilian casualties". I beg to differ. After decades of meddling with their politics, and five years of bloodshed, who do you think that cute little Iraqi boy is going to grow up hating?

That's right. Me. And you. And all that this country holds dear, like ipods and smartphones, and shock-absorbing nike tennis-shoes.

So if z-facts is to be believed, the cost of eliminating the threat from this huge nation of haters is roughly $5.7 million per Iraqi death. If the average U.S. household income is $48K/year, then it would take around 118 households a mere twelve months to pay for one less terrorist.

AND, it only takes one crazy turrurist to get ahold of a nuke and blow us all up. Is the cost justifiable? F#*& YES.

If we spent half as much money promoting peace and giving incentives for dialogues and peace processes as we did on war, the world would be a far safer and better place.

The war on terror was quite possibly the biggest balls-up ever, and we should all remember it as such so we don't make the same mistakes again.

Where is the accountability? Who's job is at risk? American infrastructure is crumbling, schools closing, ....Free markets can only succeed if all concerned have equal economic clout and equal opportunity. Otherwise, you end up with monopolies, cartels and recessions
