Fear is an emotion emotions are not supposed to be rational, they are supposed to be instinctive and to indicate 'good and bad' to the primitive brain.

Fear of being eaten is certainly not rational. You could say so given sharks live in the sea, and we don't, but it's all a primal thing, predators eat you, stay away from them...

If you're not in the water then yes, but if you are in waters known for sharks then of course not. Sharks are huge, pointy, and erratic. They can kill you quite a few ways in the water these include, drowning, shock, and the obvious one bleeding out from a bite.
