Yea, depends what exactly you're referring to. The body and brain are useless without a heart. You can even be alive with your heart beating and your brain dead (although that's kind've pointless). But if you're asking in a questionable sense when it comes to making decisions, that's another issue. Side: Heart

heart - is an involuntary muscle , you don't need to remind yourself to make you heart beat. - it is the main component of the circulatory system wherein blood and nutrients reaches to the different parts of the body including your brain. - during the pulmonary and systemic circulation the exchange of oxygen and diffusion of carbon dioxide occurs, whenever your heart pumps blood it does not only carries oxygen but also it rids carbon dioxide. - when your heart seizes to pump blood you are dead, however when your brain stops to function .. you can still be alive because of the sustenance of the blood. -heart is more important~ K3- SPED ly (manila) Side: Heart
The heart is myogenic and it does not need any external nervous stimulation. So it can beat on it's own (around 50 beats per minute). Although heart rate is controlled in the brain stem and you would not get enough blood around the body if your doing exercise you could still live when your not doing any exercise. I think importance can be tested this way. How long would we survive without a brain or without a heart? Heart: Six minutes, this is because after six minutes the body cells start dying due to lack of glucose +oxygen (since if there is no heart nothing can pump around the oxygen saturated hemoglobin) Brain: depends how long it takes for the energy stores to be depleted since the brain controls digestion (absorption of nutrients). Without energy the heart cannot pump Side: Heart

lets not forget brain is supplied blood by heart so this just proves heart is better. without your brain you can live and without heart you cant and this just ends the debate because we are in the world to live as long as we can. and brain works when blood is supplied by the heart so heart is superior to brain or father of brain. do you say that a family can live wihtout a father or son ? defintely father is more essential and as it is heart Side: Heart

hahahaha we prove that the heart is more important then the brain by using our brain.................................. Side: Heart

his question comes up from time to time, sometimes in the midst of a serious discussion but more often than not as part of a lighthearted conversation. It often gets disputed when cardiologists and neurologists get together! In fact, I remember wondering about it as a child watching the Wizard of Oz! Side: Heart

Certainly the brain is much more complicated than the heart. In fact, the brain is simply an amazing organ. To say that we have barely scratched the surface of our understanding of the brain is an understatement. Even with the incredible advancements in research over the last 50 years, we still have a very limited understanding of the brain and the its workings. I never cease to be amazed at the ability of the brain to control functions that we take for granted, things as simple as walking and movement. Side: Heart

Ok, people, I'm pretty sure this question isn't meant to be taken literally. It's asking which is more important, logic or emotion. I would say both are important, but logic should take precedence. The heart can sometimes tell you to do things that are bad for you in the long term. Emotions occur when your mind and body adjust itself to a certain situation. For example, when we become angry, blood is diverted from the part of our brain that helps us understand people to the part of our brain that helps us insult people. So looking at it this way, you can say the heart is like a steering wheel, it decides where we go, and the brain is like an engine, it gets us there. Side: Brain

I would have to say the brain because the brain is what tell everything in your body how to function and without a brain it cant send messages to your heart to tell it to beat even tho those that are brain dead can still live they have to like hooked up to machine's in order to keep there hearts beating ; thats why they stay in the hospitals Side: Brain
I support the brain because it is a much higher level organ. Heart is essential, of course, but also very plain. Brain, however, is the symbol of the evolution of mankind. I'd say without heart, we even can not live like many other organisms, but without brain, we would not be able to live as a human. Side: Brain

If someone with a regenerative body were to be decapitated, would they grow a new body or a new head? Although the brain pumps blood and keeps everything in motion, the brain would function everything. If , wouldn't the brain tell what remained to grow a new body? Side: Brain

I think the brain is more important because even though cells would cease to function without the supply of blood they also lose its function when there is no innervation of neurons and the gradual death of the brain and the nervous system is eventually what leads to the death of the individual and the beating of the heart itself.
