Is the use of embryonic stem cells ethical?

Is the use of the cells that can specialise into what can help save people's lives ethical when it involves the use and argued exploitation of early embryos?

Yes, it's not wrong

No, it is immoral

Well if you think about it, an embryo isn't a foetus yet and foetuses can't feel pain until 20 weeks or later in gestation, if it will save someone's life why not?

I suggest that people who are against stem cell research on religious grounds or otherwise maintain their morality by not using the benefits that would emerge from the science. Those of us who do not share these beliefs should be free to use its benefits.

People against this research are actually responsible for halting progress and costing lives by their absurd resistance to research that's beneficial to the human race

You are so so correct👌🏻! Right on man! We need some social Darwinism FO SHO!

Side: Yes, it's not wrong

Yes, they shouldn't put the load of their idiocy and ignorance on those who'd rather not share it.

If you, as an embryo, volunteer to commit suicide by giving your stem cells, there's nothing wrong with it.

Embryos don't have the capacity to be aware, forget making educated and serious choices

When did you become aware after you were an embryo ?

When will you be aware enough to be legally classified as human?

So if you are sleeping and unaware, it's okay to kill you so that the planet is not burdened with feeding you?

So if you are unconscious, or asleep, unaware of your surroundings and unable to make serious choices, it's okay to abort you?

Side: Yes, it's not wrong

There is a gradient of personhood and these embryos have far less (nearly none) than a grown human and so these people's desires are clearly going to be more important and should be.

I would say that it is more immoral not to do this if it will help mankind than to do it.

It's an embryo, it has no awareness, no thought process and feels no pain. It has about as much to it as a growth of cancer cells, though the comparison isn't flattering at all, there is no conciseness to it, no self-awareness.

I think it could be hard for someone to donate it in the event something happened as they would be seeing what it could have been. But it would take courage and an act of generosity to look beyond that to use its potential to save other lives. It's ethical and moral, but I think it could be very painful.
