Is the word Wigger racist?
I think the word wigger is racist. It trades on complicit approval of the word nigger. It means white nigger.
40 years ago the prase would be "nigger lover".
Wigger means the exact same thing, and somehow its not racist.

Wigger is specifically racist, and it doesn't mean nigger lover so much as it means nigger wanna be. It was a term created by black people to use against white people they felt were trying to "steal" their culture. It was invented specifically for the purpose of separation. Side: Yup
That's not really true. You can see it in different cultures, and thus different ethnicity, that people actually do act differently. It's not necessarily because their races are different but the fact that their races are different is still relevant. For instance one might be more inclined to roll their windows up while driving through Brooklyn, than while driving through Rodeo Drive. It's because the people who live in those two places, despite their different races generally are different. Now as for the word wigger being racist, it'd hardly be applied to a white person living in Brooklyn, it'd more likely be applied to a white person living in Rodeo Drive. The reason is because the white person living in the dangerous area, isn't acting, he/she actually is that way, while the white person who isn't living the dangerous lifestyle, probably is acting like they do. its effectively calling a stereotypical black person a nigger and subscribing to this stereotype, which in itself is racist, as it reduces an entire group of people to one poor caricature of a comedy character. it then reduces another group of people to a gross association with this stereotyped representation of a people. its inaccurate, short-handed and a great example of casual contemporary racism. Side: Yup
Only if we assume that nigger has an inherently "racist" connotation. Although it can be used a slur, it doesn't necessarily have to be one. Since wigger is just the "white" variation of it, it doesn't necessarily insinuate "racist" conceptualizations. In fact, if the term nigger demonstrated racism towards black people (like in its "slur" form), we could not make a white variation of it (*that necessarily demonstrated racism against whites).
