Is there a double standard Re: Police Brutality/Islam

This may seem like a strech, but I'm noticing a certain sense of hypocrisy in regards to stereotyping groups.

On one side, several members of a certain religion (Islam), have performed acts of great terror which have negatively affected many citizens from many countries.

On the other, hired public servants, through a lack of training and filtering during the hiring process, also perform what could be considered an act of terror on innocent civilians.

Now, the part that confuses me most is that while many like to generalize an entire religion of 1.7 Billion people (23% of the global population), the same people are quick to defend the actions of police officers (900,000-1,100,000 in the U.S.), stating that "There's bound to be a few rotten apples in a batch."

If someone could explain the thought process that one takes to arrive at such assumptions that would be wonderful, because it seems foolish to selectively stereotype groups and hold certain ones more accountable than others for similar actions.

Police follow a policy of "to protect and serve". Islam follows a philosophy of bigotry, misogyny, suppression and jihad; there is no comparison. Furthermore, Muslims believe a man who jizz-bombs kids and who pioneered the concept of thighing to be the "perfect man". There are no double standards here- none.
