Is there any vulgar language used in this quote?

I was recently banned from the debate "What is wisdom?" by saintnow for cussing in this statement.

I completely disagree with his assessment and would like more opinions.

"This is a one sided debate. I declare this thread be shut down. Not only are the "for and against" sides the same goddamned thing, but the question in the debate is completely irrelevant to them. Wisdom is experience, knowledge and good judgement. There's a dictionary for the creator of this shameful thread to look into."

The creator of the debate has his/ her rights.. If he/she does not like the language you are using, then too bad for you..

The OP never claimed otherwise, so why post this?

And banning someone for writing "goddamned" is such a display of fortitude...

Why do you want to be a wuss and complain about this?? You should send him/her a message and see what she/he has gotta say..

Calling someone a "wuss" because they were trying to determine if others thought the wording was vulgar is unnecessary and somewhat obnoxious.

I'm not being a wuss about it nor am I complaining. Look up the definitions to the words you use before you use them. Assuming that I could send him/her a message to see what she/has got to say I believe it would look something like this:

Saintnow said:

"As I recall, in my debate "God loves you VS "I don't believe it", you negated yourself from the argument by saying there is no God. There is nothing for you to say if that's what you believe, the debate was not designed for people who believe God is not there. Your demand to be unbanned must be ignored for me to be fair to all of the other God-haters who were banned there.

To answer your question yes it is vulgar and frankly offensive ("sarcasm" aside). It may hold no significance at all for you , but it does for anyone who believes in God and to not only employ its usage in your posts but jest over it is highly disrespectful. On this occasion I believe the ban was warranted.

I don' t think there is. As the only thing I can see him getting his/her panties up in a bunch is the word Goddamned. which is not vulgar it's a word to emphasize frustration.

god·damn

/ˌɡädˈdam/

adjective, adverb, & noun

informal

adjective: goddamned

used for emphasis, especially to express anger or frustration.

and a cuss or a curse is defined as vulgar

curse

/kərs/

informal

noun: the curse

2. an offensive word or phrase used to express anger or annoyance

Vulgar:

/ˈvəlɡər/

making explicit and offensive reference to sex or bodily functions; coarse and rude.

It is vulgar if you don't believe in God. Saintnow does not believe in God, therefore yes vulgar.

I love the sarcasm and your sense of humor. :)

You might actually be speaking a lot of truth as well. Should only be vulgar to someone not believing in god. As the "God"damned is the vulgar part LMFAO!

Side: Nay!

He is using this website to act out little power trips. He down votes everything he disagrees with, bans everyone, and insults everyone while trying to pretend he is speaking for God.

Your reply was gratuitously offensive and one word, goddamn, could be interpreted by many as blasphemous. If you have issues with saintnow and you felt his question was unworthy of answer then why didn't you just ignore him and his question, indeed all his questions, and enjoy the site as a means of entertaining relaxation? Like so many people you like to take a swipe at Christians and Christianity whilst leaving other more aggressive religions alone, presumably in case you get tracked down and machine gunned to death.

Thank you for your opinion.

Because saintnow creates a large majority of dumb debates in the attempt to convert people to Christianity on this website. I don't go around looking for his debates. Just ones I happen to click on end up frustrating me because they are all one sided and repugnant. He has made himself an enemy to me and that's all you need to know.

Like so many people you like to take a swipe at Christians and Christianity whilst leaving other more aggressive religions alone,

Your bold analysis of me is rather repugnant. You don't know me well enough to make an assertion like that. If you know anything about Christianity, you'd know it's not all sunshine and rainbows. I personally think all religion is a plague and I avoid it as such. Individual spirituality is where my stance is. Taking pride in who you are and what you love without being told I'm a bad person who's going to hell by every religious nut job. Buddhism I find to be the most acceptable. Don't hear them coming around here telling me that god loves all or believing that THEY NEED TO BE TOLD GOD LOVES THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE DUMB UNSERVILE DIP SHITS WHO NEEDS SAVING AND THEY NEED TO READ A BOOK WRITTEN BY AN INVISIBLE MAN 2000 YEARS AGO SO WE CAN ALL BE A HIVE MIND.

presumably in case you get tracked down and machine gunned to death.

Back in the day Christians would burn people at the stake for the suspicion of witchcraft... they also burned, tortured, mutilated, and spat upon all people who were unbelievers back in the day. They are not the most peaceful and the none stop "convert them" attitude needs to stop as it is a warring action.

Insofar that all faiths are guilty of indoctrinating children in the hocus pocus of superstitious clap trap before they are sufficiently mature to make reasoned judgments of all the man made religions for themselves, I agree with you about religion in general. Christianity has long since ceased it's barbaric practices of torture and such atrocities as the Inquisition and, apart from it's apparent pre-occupation with paedophilia, pursues it's dogma in a peaceful and civilized manner. The two points you missed were, you, along with others, regularly swallow saintnow's 'bait ' hook line and sinker and react in the manner that his/her post was designed to achieve. How do you know that saintnow is not an atheist or a Muslim? The other point was, with so many acts of Islam atrocities I feel it would bring balance to your anti- Christian rhetoric if you spent some time condemning the religion which not only spawns countless acts of human carnage but seems, through the teachings of it's scriptures, to promote the idea of death to all infidels, that's all non Muslims.
