Not really. From the very beginning they have an aspect of currency. Christianity's end is God Himself. Moreover, getting beaten up is not equivalent to the just destruction of the wicked.

Hell is not equivalent to getting beaten up. Beaten up has a certain contextual ring to it, harkening to immoral bullying. Hell is a punishment for evil, the very thing that bullying is.
God is the end to which all things aim. Heaven and eternal life are really side thoughts; God Himself is what Christians want and desire.

I would actually say the exact reverse: deep down you know the Christian God to be real, but you search after your own desires, wanting God to not be real, cognitively lying to yourself to make you feel better about your rebellion.

I understood the metaphorical concept the video presented, but I didn't get an exact sense of accuracy from it. I do agree with some of the things presented though.
