Is this even remotely acceptable?

Please look at the pictures in this link.

I... don't think I can comment on this right now.

My faith in humanity has just died.

Free speech makes anything "acceptable" and in their defense, I'm not so sure so many people would react negatively to these posters if they were about Bush. I remember another debate had a video that mentioned a poster with Bush on it, but he has a Hitler mustache and stuff photoshopped on to him. I didn't hear too much "Is this even remotely acceptable?" about that...

I understand your point of view, MK. And I thank you for bringing that up, because Bush got a much harsher rap than he deserved. And it was totally uncool. It wasn't like he was the only person running the country, and he sure as hell could have done a lot worse job than he did.

The reason this is so bad is that people are doing this the day after 9/11 in some sort of bigot hate fest. That's like preaching religion at an atheist's funeral. It's not cool. Not one bit. There are lines you're not supposed to cross and lines you're supposed to respect, and it's obvious that these people don't know what those lines are.

I'll admit, I was biased against Bush, but so were a lot of people. I wouldn't do something so stupid as to call him the devil though, and people who do are pricks. But, the other thing here is that these people aren't just protesting Obama, they're being racist and bigoted about it. Extremely bigoted. It's just not cool. We've been working against being racist and bigoted for the past two hundred years, and all of that is suddenly fading away.

Incase this is new to you. This is why it's called the 9-12 Project, a lot of people had their eyes opened on 9-11 and personally vowed to never stick their heads back in the sand, they would pay attention, get involved.

Define acceptable.

Legal? or Socially condemned by the opposition?

The Liberal Media and Nut Jobs labeled President Bush a liar for agreeing with

Bill Clinton, Gore, Pelosi, Ted Kennedy on Saddam Hussein having WMD’s [see footnote].

(I guess Hussein just wished the several thousand Kurds dead).

Was that acceptable?

Openly calling for President Bush to be shot?

Was that acceptable?

Google “Kill Bush” click Images, goto advanced filter and turn it off.

Is all this acceptable?

It goes both ways, the only difference is ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, and the Newspapers hide liberal behavior while shining the spot light on the few examples they can find from the opposition.

Wake up America. The mass media is not spoon feeding you the Truth. Question facts and reject opinion passed on like it was fact.

Disclaimer: I am not a Republican or for Republicans, I am a conservative that wants to see the majority of Republicans Fired! from Congress for life long service in bankrupting our country with every scheme they can dream up. It’s time to clean house. And on President Bush, after 9-11 I wanted revenge like 85% of America, the only difference is I remember and I will not blame him for doing our will. I could never condemn Bush without condemning myself first.

first of all, thank you. The question to:

"Openly calling for President Bush to be shot?" and "Google “Kill Bush” click Images, goto advanced filter and turn it off." etc

-is not "was that expectable?" but where these jerks even criticizing them?

No.

The left goes from offence to defense and they already want to call for a penalty!

It's so funny these 'blood sucking racists'[and that's assuming there are no black people at these protests, which is false] are known to be the nicest group of protesters ever! American flags, beach balls, and live music. Oh these jerks how dare they! (;

I understand what you are saying, yet the racist remarks can be taken seriously in light of the woman whose sign is saying Obama is a muslim. I say this because it is for two reasons:

1. He has declared time and time again he is not a muslim

2. It's basically using "Muslim" as an insult/slur which is racism.

Plus I find calling any president or leader of any country the anti-christ to be VERY strong language. I was not a fan of bush but I would never stoop to calling him the devil. I called some of his decisions stupid and even him uneducated. I've called Obama a bit lily livered for not addressing his criticism.

I bet these protesters would be nice to you. To be frank from what I see of your postings you would fit in quite well. I am not saying this is bad, I'm just saying those people would not be hostile towards you. Yet to someone like me who is a black liberal non christian female there would be hostility most likely. If there were some persons of color there protesting as well, they would have the same hostility towards me whether black or no. I have met some black conservative republicans who are almost ashamed of those who do not share their views thinking them ignorant or caught up in the liberal storm. Yet even they even if some chose to ignore the hostility does not mean it's not there.

I have no problem with a majority of those protesters though. It's just a majority of those fanatic ones who quote Fox news every twenty seconds and think Obama is a secret muslim. Those protesters are the types who do cling to their guns believe their religion gives them mastery over everything, and would believe that Obama is a muslim as part of some "Negro jew conspiracy to kill old white people and start raping the poor white women"

Those protesters are the ones who are shown in the pictures. I'm half way tempted to exclude the gun guy but because of the fact that he thinks the governement is going to come to his house and take his guns (which are hopefully legal) he is included. Those people give the respectable protesters a bad name.

I protested against the last administration and it's choices, it is only fair to allow others to do the same. It is free speech.

On a different note, though, it is my opinion that these protester are wrong.

You are right and this may be one of the few times we agree on something. Anyone who does things like compare Bush or Obama to Hitler are stupid. Obama wants to do good for this country, but he maybe misguided as to the best way to do that. He is not going to kill 6 million Jews and 4 million others like Hitler. He won't send people to the gulag like Stalin. He as far as we know was born in the U.S. so he is a valid president. These people are a false interpretation of the people that disagree with Obama's vision for healthcare and what they are doing is wrong.

Acceptable? Yes. But sad and pathetic, too.

Opponents of Obama are going to have to do better than accusing him of being Muslim or the anti-Christ if they actually expect to get somewhere.

1. Freedom Of Speech.

2. It's okay when Bush was called Hitler. But when Obama is said to be a commie, it's lets take everything literal day.

Please.

3. I don't approve of people making light of Kennedy's death. At all. But then again, ..freedom.

4. A lot of these signs are jokes taken too literally and too seriously.

5. I saw some signs with some pretty good questions and quotes and great points. No blog for that?'

6. Obama is simply not the 'anti christ' and not 'Muslim'. Those idiots are just giving the harsh critics more fuel. I really wish they wouldn't.

Side: yes

Voltaire famously said "I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it" and so it is with these placards and t-shirts. Some will be offended and some will laugh but most will just say "It's a free country, anyone can say what they like and thank God for that." Because to censor or prevent people saying whatever they like is an infringement of our personal liberty for which millions have fought and died.

It is sad but unavoidable that people will often parade in public their opinions that are not founded on any research or analytical deduction when everyone around them is saying "Oh that's not true" or far worse. Equally, it is their right to make themselves look stupid. Most of us follow Lincoln who said that "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

Welcome to free speech.

I mean, this is the price we pay for free speech. Luckily, we have something called criticism. I did the same thing when Bush was attacked and people would burn the flag and say anti-American shit.

I deal with it and I slam the shit out of idiots like that. Especially that McCarthyism shit, wtf?

But this is what protesters do. They're a bunch of faggots who have nothing better to do so they protest with the worst arguments possible... they just think it's smart cause they come up with witty shit to say.

It's ONLY acceptable as free speech, like burning the flag.

Although, I will have to say that some of the lines were pretty cool, specifically:

"Bury Obamacare with Kennedy"

and

"Go ahead and take it"

the former being because it's just awesome (Un-PC)r) and the latter being because I love guns.

But even so, these people are serious about this shit. That's my main problem with it. If these were just jokes, they would be pretty LOL funny, but these assholes are serious as fuck, and it's not funny when it's serious.

You’re against their messages but you can call these protesters Faggots for taking time out of their busy lives and exercising their First Amendment rights?

These are not professional protesters hired by some extremist group, they are millions of working class citizens saying enough is enough.

They're professional morons, just like all protesters.

They know nothing about the issues and they say the worst things possible because they're FAGGOTS.

They believe that Obama is both a nazi and a communist AND that he's the AntiChrist. and the BRING BACK MCCARTHYISM is the worst of them all. That was a horrible era. How the fuck does anyone want that back? Cause they're morons.

I'm sure a lot of those people make plenty of money and can afford to take time off from their jobs to protest. However, there ARE millions of Americans who cannot take time off from work, or even have transportation to protest these "so-called millions" of tea-bagging, brainless, vapid, selfish rethuglicans.

Side: No

Agreed. I don't condone this kind of rhetoric. Maybe the wackos should have their own political party ;)

No, it's just dumb.

I mean, it would be one thing if they made sense, but how the hell can someone be communist, fascist, nazi, and a religious figure from Revelations all at once?

I'm glad they're out in the open though at least, hopefully Obama's secret service is taking extra precaution, because dumb white racists are historically extraordinarily prone to violence.

I agree with the fact that this is part of a person's right of free speech, but this should be morally unacceptable to those people doing that. Many people bit their tongue while Bush was in office, and was ruining our country, but when Obama wins, people have hissy fits, and try to demoralize Obama. This is a disgusting show of how petty some people are. This is going to far, and this should be considered slander.

Side: No

It is acceptable because we have free speech. But it isn't acceptable to bash and hate on someone, because of their race.(and yes most of these people do it because of race) People that act like this, are purely ignorant, and there will always be ignorant people in this country, and the world for that matter.
