It's more offensive due to the fact that it ought to be obvious to people that people die all the time around the world, whether by bombs, by guns, by knives, by disease, by "old age", by whatever. And so, the meme is not informative at all because who doesn't know that people die all of the time, other than children or mentally ill whom do not know any better? Generally speaking, if you've got a mind, you will know that people die every second, especially those in the middle east and those in 3rd world countries where they've got no food. And so, the meme is more offensive not only because it's obvious people die every day, but because it's almost like saying "Americans mourn 2 or 3 people today, but what about those 15 in that other country?", as if 3 Americans, 15 whomever, are not equal; as if every life doesn't count. The meme is merely being redundant if anything, however I still find it to be offensive because it naturally challenges my conscious/doesn't give me credit, in that they (whomever did the meme) are acting like there aren't people whom do realize the reality of the situations, both here and in the other parts of the world, concerning death. I don't think this meme is offensive, it makes you think. Yeah the Boston bombing was a terrible event, but the fact that it was able to capture the attention of practically the entire world whereas other incidents in war torn countries go unnoticed in all the chaos is a testament to how lucky we are to live in a stable nation. Arguably both. A lot of informative things, are in fact offensive. Take for instance the great debate about teaching creationism, and or teaching evolution. Those are both informative, about what isn't important, yet they are so controversial people often get offended. In regards to the picture specifically, I feel if it's true it's informativeness is greater than it's obvious offensiveness by being posted with the Joker. Side: Informative
