Tough call.... 99.99% of the time I would say no... but what if we had a guy that planted a nuke in NYC but we didn't know where and it was going to go off in 24 hours... A ridiculous scenario for sure but I guess my point is that there may be circumstances in which it would be necessary. Side: Yes!

It's been used by the US Army in every conflict it has ever been in and it's saved a lot of lives. For it to be effective, however, torture must be administered correctly. Say you have a prisoner who you know has information you want, such as sniper positions, or the location of land mines, or reinforcements, etc... you must introduce pain until the desire to withhold information is overcome by the desire for relief from the pain. It's simply psychology really. There must also be a punishment for lying however, as it is not uncommon for a subject to lie their way out of the torture, so a greater torture must be threatened for dishonesty, and it must be believed by the subject. As long as all these conditions are met, it is very effective, and it saves lives. Side: Yes!

Yes it is acceptable in some circumstances. For instance, if a girl is forced to have sex of any kind than the dude that committs the crime should have his dick chopped off then spend time in prison. And of course the regular nuclear bomb threat deserves some torture if the masterminds behind the plan do not confess to where the nuke is located and how to stop it. Side: Yes!

I have kids and the only way to get the truth out of them is to send them to the torture chamber in our home (that would be our living room. We call it, "Guantanamo Bay.") There they are subjected to tickle torture until they spill the beans. The dog usually cleans up the spilled beans ;) Side: Yes!

I would have to say no. Because what is acceptable to one person may not be acceptable to another. For example, Some crazy lunitic terroist belives he is doing his country and great service and his God by torturing an American soldier into giving them the information they need. Side: No!

We saw how good it worked during the inquisition lol ..Torture is a waste of time ,and most of the time the information is not accurate. Someone that is suffering is going to say anything to stop it or relieve the pain. Come on all you got to do is put yourself in the place of someone being tortured you know you would do anything to have it stop Side: No!
