Israel wouldnt of gone in, but of course the Palestinians continued firing rockets day in day out. The Arabs screwed themselves over. They screwed the Palestinians over. They went to war with Israel three times and had their asses handed to them all three times. Israel is in a fight for its survival and some one shooting rockets into Israel deserve whats coming to them.

I agree. Any country who has, send bomes upon another country would have to sometimes face that country in a war. Israel wants its people to live in peach and quite and just want some time out from all those wars. Thanks for understanding.
The reason Israel started the blockaide was to prevent the militants from getting weapons and firing them at Israel, Israel didnt start it, the Palestinians started it, their the ones who invaded with the Arabs in the first war and got their a kicked. Israel was much smaller then it is today, but hey, the Arabs cant fight, and lost. Now, whats sad, is the Palestinians can get all the supplys they need, but they only use the tunnles to smuggle weapons in, they have more weapons in Gaza then Mexico. Plus, if I was Israel and this government came into power that was sworn to my destruction, I would build a wall as well.

Your right. It is not Israel's fault. It is the Hammasss they started it. What is sad is that the Hamass is making people from his country die because the Hamass doesnt even care about his own people and just is comsentreting on killing Jews.
Can't they just go to any other adjoining country? I mean, if you're in the Gaza Strip, can't you just go to Egypt? Can't their Arab brothers air lift food stuffs to them? Can't they sneak across the border like the Mexicans into the U.S.? ;)
I totally agree with you but the thing is Isreal is keeping a watch on the Palestinians and they are surrounded by barb wire fences. If anyone were to try and escape to egypt the isreali military will be sure to murder them
For the most part i think it is Israel's fault. Now i don't support the rocket fire by hamas and i think that is wrong, but the degree of retaliation by Israel is so out of proportion that i think it is criminal and revenge instead of defense. Israel has done a lot to make of life of those in gaza terrible and has gone to extensive measures to prevent supplies of any form to come into the area. They say it is because they want to stop weapons getting to hamas and certainly weapons are getting to hamas that way but food and other supplies that are not for militeristic means also can only get in that way.
Israel has made gaza a desolate place and yet Israel continues to blame the local population for the situation there. If israel really were interested in peace and defense they would work to help their neighbor instead of put them under siege.
It isnt Israels fault. They self-definted themselfs. They did not have another choise! They told the Hammas to stop but he woundnt! What was there left to do but to finish the war that started in year 2000 9 years ago by the Hammass starting the rockets bomes sending to Israel?! I think the whole situation started when Israel was formed following WWII. I think the UN made a huge mistake by doing this. They basically handed the Israelis the land that had already belonged to the Palestinians. The same premise occurred when Europeans fist settled America and took the land that belonged to the Native Americans. That was wrong, bu today, it's not as if they are our enemies- they're just our drunk casino-owning friends! :)
I'm sorry if this offended you in any way. I have nothing against Jewish people, but I have something against the institution of Israel as a nation. The land belonged to Israel before, which can even be found in the Bible. But the Israelites had been gone from the land for so long and the Palestinians took over. I don't think any group of people is entitled to any amount of land- ever. On top of this, if the two groups of people could learn to be more understanding they just might have been able to share the land! Why is it impossible for the Israelites and Palestinians to get along? Put aside your differences for once!

Israel is a joke of a country. I mean why would you build a primarily Jewish country, in between several militant Muslim nations. It's not only segregationist, but hypocritical of any event that happened in WW2
How are they aggressive. They dont even have a military, they only have a defense force, and the only time the Israels ever fired back was when Hamas or Hezbollah fired first. If someone started shooting at you, and you fired back and killed him due, would you be labeled the aggressor? No, it would be self defense.
I think that's the problem here. People think this is some sort of war between the Palestinian Authority and Israel and that just isn't the case. There is small group of crazy people who are attacking Israel and it doesn't give Israel the right to barge into Gaza and level everything. They bombed schools, they didn't warn people about attacks sometimes, they use white phosphorus which is illegal to literally level blocks of buildings to the ground. Israel's extremely aggressive response will only lead to more hatred toward Israel and more violence.

I don't agree with that. If "a small group of crazy people" in Mexico were firing rockets into the U.S., and the Mexican government was unable or unwilling to do anything, you bet the U.S. would do something about it. A country has the right to protect itself.
Yes I agree the US would do something drastic considering our aggressive foreign policy, but I am not saying it was wrong for Israel to defend itself. I am saying it was wrong to bomb schools, to use white phosphorus to destroy whole blocks of buildings, and to prevent the media and humanitarian aid fro m entering Gaza.
Your whole points of debate is that the Jews took land from the Palestinians. The Palestinians took land from the Ottomans/Turks. So why arnt you up in arms about that and return the land to the Turks, and then return the land to the owners before the Turks? You keep going back, why not give the land to their rightful owner then, the Greeks? Why not give all the land the Arabs took from the Greeks? Give back Asian Minor. Why arnt you up in arms about the land the US took from Mexico? Why arnt you up in arms about the land the Poles and Russians took from Germany? Why arnt you up in arms about Tibet? Why not just re-make the Roman Empire, give back all the land to the Romans. That would make you happy, wouldnt it? Or are you just a hypercritic , that only cares about the Jews returning the land and no on else?

And when did the Palestinians take it from the Turks? A looooong time ago, enough that the victims of any invasion or displacement have resettled. Palestine, however, has been turned into a nation of refugees, and many of those are still alive. You know there is a difference, so don't pull out that Slippery Slope argument.
So I'm just curious if a band of terrorists in Canada shoot some rockets into the US are we entitled to invade Canada and kill hundreds of civilians and bomb schools and deny humanitarian aid to the victims?
Umm no. But Gaza sent Israel rockets for the past 9 years now. Life hasnt been so great that way. So Israel did something about it trying not to open a war but Gaza didnt listen to a word Israel said about peace in a good way instead of a war so Israel HAD to start a war to protect its people. And you know what, is. Maybe USA would start a war between Canda and USA, because its self-defence USA will protect its country its just that Israel letted bomes fall on its country for 9 years and didnt do anything about it. Will USA also wait 9 years or will they start a war shortly after bomes have folllen? I dont know. Lets just hope that war doesnt actually happen. Not only that, but the misery of Palestinians is caused directly by the Israeli government, while the slight misery of Israelis is due to group of radicals in Palestinian territory.

Again you are spewing propaganda that isn't true. During the recent Gaza massacre, Israel refused to let Red Cross into Gaza for days and it refused to let the media into Gaza for fear of the world finding out about their activities.

Why don't you take a good hard look at a map of the original partitioning agreement and the current map and try to notice the difference? I wasn't questioning the validity of the bible because that isn't really a question it's just a book. What I was questioning was that it is ridiculous to say that someone deserves something just because a book says so regardless of who believes it is holy. And yes I wouldn't be surprised if I know more about both the New and Old Testaments than you do. It's really ironic sometimes that atheists know more about peoples religions than they do themselves.
