Considering the original term for gender was purely grammatical, referring to nouns and pronouns distinguished by the different inflections which they had and which they required in words syntactically associated with them. We have traveled far from the original definition (I still do not know the difference between transsexual female and transsexual woman in terms of gender labels). Side: True.

I would disagree that we always go far from the originally intended meanings of words. But in any case, my point still stands. It was a simpler time when gender was merely used in the grammatical sense. The reason being is that once gender became the used to define the state of being male or female without the biological connotations behind them then all sorts of convoluted discussions began to arise, such as any argument on the topic that includes DBCooper... Admittedly this is probably due to the fact that gender and sex are often used interchangeably. Side: True.

You're probably correct, but the classification of 33 genders makes things more interesting. You could change your gender preference to suit your mood and the situation you're in. 'Pick a gender, any gender' look at it, now put it back into the pack. Side: Wait..., what? No!!!
