Jason Shockley shooting
I just watched the video and did a very brief review of the facts provided by Newsweek.
First; a vehicle is a lethal weapon. One which Smith (the suspect) had already illustrated he was willing to use recklessly. After he crashed into a marked police squad car, he turned and nearly ran over two police officers in an attempt to escape. This reckless behavior caused Stockley to fire his weapon multiple times before the chase ever ensued. This lawful lethal force is not in question.
Second; during the chase, Stockley can be heard (if barely) saying "going to kill this (expletive), don't you know it." according to court documents. It cannot be distinguished if he said I, we, they, or anything else. It cannot be determined that this is a statement of intent rather than a statement of apprehension for what happens at the end of the chase. Given Stockley's behavior at the end of the chase, the latter may be inferred since...
Third; At the end of the chase Stockley approaches the vehicle and is seen on video talking to Smith through the car window. He doesn't go in guns blazing, he didn't even approach with his gun actually drawn. According to Stockley, the talk was him giving commands to Smith who was busy reaching around inside his car and failing to comply. This reaching around caused Stockley to draw his weapon. When Stockley observed Smiths demeanor change, he believed it was due to him locating the gun that Stockley was afraid he had. This is when Stockely shot and killed Smith. Later, a gun was located between the front seat and the center consol by Stockley who ejected the chambered round rendering the gun safe and placed them on the front seat.
Fourth; the burden of proof lies with the prosecution. Stockely must be shown to have committed murder beyond a reasonable doubt.
Fifth; I forgot to mention the skin color of the persons involved. That's because bullets aren't racist.
I appreciate your looking into the killing deeper than I did, and what you have to say about it.. I reported what I knew about it...
What's crazy here is that we're so divided, and our media is so divided, that it's almost impossible to get the truth... In this particular case, my knee MIGHT have jerked.
On a larger plain, however, I believe cops individually may very well NOT be racist.. But, the ORGANIZATION called the police force is institutionally and systemically racist..
I bring up the Michael Bennett incident.. Here's a BIG black man running AWAY from what EVERYBODY thought was a shooting.. The BIG black guy was thrown to the ground - NOT the white people...
On the thread that speaks about looters, to a poster, they ALL agreed that a BIG black man DID something WRONG if you saw him running away.. I'm not sure that cops don't think the same thing.
Hi Dermot, Regardless how many times you kick such bogus arguments into touch the inbred bitterness of the resentful blacks will never recognize the truth nor heed conciliatory overtures.
They're only interested in spitting out their irrational racist venom and enjoy bellowing, racist, racist.
You're obviously enjoying destroying such racist arguments which is fair enough, but all you're doing is acting as a catalyst against which the dedicated racist can react.
It's all good clean fun but, forgive me for saying so, totally futile.
Hi Antrim , Excon goes about seeing racism absolutely everywhere yet fails to acknowledge the fact that's he's an out and out racist .
I understand why he might detest the police as his several spells in various 'nicks ' across the country seems to have given him a detestation for the people who protect us from the likes of him and his villainous buddies .
You're correct again as in its futile trying to educate pork .
I enjoy shooting holes in his ridiculous theories which get more and more desperate every day , I must say though I dislike riff raff like him attempting to hold forth on topics to his superiors which demonstrates clearly he forgotten his place , I'm merely putting him back in his corrrect place βΊοΈπ
Well I actually do , one of my functions here on C D is my continuing ' charitable works ' as in my endeavours to bring illumination to X jailbirds , religious nuts , and various dim - wits such as yourself and others .
You throw about allegations and statements that no doubt sound like the musings of of a ' sage ' to fellow cons undoubtedly with your chest puffed out and head held high as another round is called for in the local watering hole where you're the resident barroom ' philosopher '
Here is a Wiki definition of the term you abused
Institutional racism (also known as institutionalized racism) is a form of racism expressed in the practice of social and political institutions. Institutional racism is also racism by individuals or informal social groups, governed by behavioral norms that support racist thinking and foment active racism. It is reflected in disparities regarding wealth, income, criminal justice, employment, housing, health care, political power and education, among other things. Whether implicitly or explicitly expressed, institutional racism occurs when a certain group is targeted and discriminated against based upon race. Institutional racism is mostly implicit, so it is often unnoticed.
What you say is true.. Leaders don't lead because it's the POPULAR position to take.. They lead because it's the RIGHT position to take.. Leaders are OUT FRONT where they take all the arrows and spears. It's a place I'm comfortable with..
I'm NOT here to be liked. If I wanted to be liked, I'da called myself goody-2-shoos. I'm here to tell you what's so. That you don't like it means I'm doing my job..
Oh dear , an X con thats sees himself as a leader as well as a bar room philosopher , you ought to lay back on the booze buddy .
Yes , I don't agree with your points regards not ' liking it ' is a bizzare way at looking at things ; what I'm doing is ..... disagreeing with you , rumour has it this apparently happens from time to time on debate sites .......... ssssshhh keep it to yourself
What ' vile 'things ? You're playing your usual ' poor me card ' when it's put to you that in fact it's you who is the racist , this is your usual dance when asked valid questions which you refuse to answer
You will notice that people who utilize "institutional racism" as a weapon for their position always refer to implicit racism, which often goes unnoticed. The problem is that they refer to make it explicit, and say what it is that is not being noticed. In this way they can claim the presence of something without bothering to show that it is truly there. And anyone who requires explicit evidence is part of the problem.
What I like about the article, is that it includes a picture of people fleeing the scene. There are a lot of black people and a lot of white people. Bennet was seen by police dunking behind a planter. After they saw him, and they believe he saw them, Bennet jumped out of hiding and ran. This seemed suspicious to the police who then detained him for about 10 minutes to investigate. This is why they detained him and not other black people running from the scene. This behavior would have been suspicious regardless of skin color. But you wouldn't know that if your bias leads you to assume that institutional racism is everywhere personified.
I note the facts as opposed to your alternative facts of the Bennett incident have been posted by A ; this once again confirms your real target here is all white cops making you a racist
I couldn't describe it better than Dermot unwittingly did. When cops see a white guy running down the street, they don't think anything about it.. But, when they see a black man running down the street, they think he DID something..
Even black cops think that.. And, it's NOT because they're black or white or Asian.. It's because they're BLUE..
Again you fail to comprehend , here is what I said .......Also the perception maybe that certain cops think a black guy running away has taken part in criminality , why do you think that is ?........
I asked you a specific question , it seems you're just reaffirming your racism .
When black and white people run down the street, it's the SAME.. But, when a black man does it, the PERCEPTION that they took part in criminality, with NO evidence whatsoever other than he's running down the street, IS institutionalized racism at work..
Clearly, YOU think a black man running down the street has taken part in criminality, so, OF COURSE, the cops would too..
You have not demonstrated ' institutionalised racism ' exists in the police force you've merely asserted it without proof , you have deliberately misrepresented the Shockley and Bennett cases yet you push on with your agenda .
Before you accuse me of what you claim I think where did I state a black man running down the street has taken part in criminality ?
Why do you never answer certain questions asked of you ?
Don't want to sink your ship here Dermot, but where I come from people like to call a spade a spade.
In my books there's nothing more suspicious than a Bongo running down the street with a television under his/her arm.
In some ways the racists have you on the defensive as they've forced you to explain your perfectly reasonable position on racism.
My approach is to state the blatantly obvious truths.
Whilst recognising there are countless exceptions it must nevertheless be stated that, generally speaking the Bongos will never be able to compete successfully in a white man's world so they take their frustrations out through acts of violence which is a congenital characteristic of their primitive nature.
In 1000 years from now, when the white man has vacated theis planet for better things in distant galaxies and left the Bongo to fend for themselves here on earth they will perish from disease, ignorance and tribal violence, and in their dying gasps will be heard saying, it's all the white man's fault
I agree with you Antrim as in calling a spade a spade , the game that the reformed convict is playing is to say that a white man will assume any black even without a tv running down a street will be under suspicion which is making out every white cop is just like him a racist .
A black man. running down a street with a t v is indeed suspicious and any cop worth his salt would stop and question him / her as the actions are indeed suspicious .
I especially appreciate you calling out your buddy, Dermot, for being slippery and slimy, and PRETENDING he isn't a racist.. But you KNOW he agrees with you - I KNOW he agrees with you - and maybe even he'll admit that he agrees with you..
Secondly.. From the git go, all I did was point out the stuff you just admitted to, and you got really really pissed off at me.. W'us up with that?
Judgement passed on me by a racist career criminal π¨ How will I ever recover ππ
The simple fact of the matter regarding that I correctly call a band of looting black Balubas in the U S baboons can be assertained by their features , skin colouring and their gait , these simple simple facts seem to elude you as you lift your skirts , stamp your high heels and squeal like a hysterical Victorian schoolmistress at the injustice of it all .
Equally in my country Nigerian claim merchants are clogging up our courts with bogus claims and defrauding our welfare system these are lazy black baboons who should be shipped back home to the shit hole they came from , even amongst African nations Nigerian dogs are renowned for idleness , theft , bogus claims and internet scams , bet you wouldn't welcome these dogs into your neighbourhood would you ?
So again instead of pointing your hypocritical schoolmistress finger and tut tutting why not admit you're a racist fuck ?
even amongst African nations Nigerian dogs are renowned for idleness, theft, bogus claims and internet scams , bet you wouldn't welcome those dogs into your neighbourhood
Hello again, D:
Hmmmm. Who coulda guessed that you HATE black Africans?? Certainly, not me..
Who coulda guessed that the whole of Africa was now re - branded as Nigeria to suit the convicts agenda .
Well I guessed like others on here from day one you're a liar , a career criminal and an admitted racist as your detestation of whites comes through in your every post .
No doubt you're busy planning your next 'job ' and looking for a suitable crew of fellow ' dawgs ' to assist and advise you on the best available soft targets .
I don't think any cop finds any jogger to be suspicious. I don't think that the institution of law enforcement sees any given runner as suspicious. However, any given person who is not dressed for running but who is running, will look suspicious unless there is an obvious other reason. If you read the Bennet article, you would see that lots of black people were running. It wasn't his race that was suspicious, but his behavior.
First; what makes you think that cops find a running black man suspicious but not a running white man? Where did you get this idea?
Second; what makes you think that cops specifically find this suspicious over anyone else? You said it's not because of race, but because they are cops. So what do you think changes in someone when they become blue?
Youve stopped responding altogether. Is that because you think my counter points do not deserve to be addressed; or because you cannot effectively address them?
the police are nothing but good they should not be punished for it. they are doing something not all of us can. cleaning the world of that trash we should start hanging the niggers they are nothing but trouble. waving guns around being annoying acting with no sense. They deserve to burned
You could reasonably argue the the institution of law enforcement is good. However, you cannot reasonably argue that Michael T. Slager shot Walter Scott because Slager is "nothing but good". Nor can you reasonably argue that Scott was shot as an outcome of his actions. Nor can you reasonably argue that, because of their skin color, people should be killed.
You just started your account and I expect it was simply to troll. You're banned for you language, which I personally disapprove of. If you want to present a reasoned position, you'll have to create a new account and start over. Your current account is intellectual and moral shit.
