Jesus and Judgment Day

The question is: If the Jesus Christ depicted in the Christian faith came down from Heaven to participate in Judgement Day, would this make him a hypocrite?

The Final Judgement, for those who don't know, is when God, Jesus, and some angels come down to Earth, kill all the living, and torture the nonbelievers for all eternity. Two particular aspects of this strike me as terribly hypocritical, should Jesus in fact participate: 1. That Judgement Day is essentially an effort to discriminate and segregate human beings based on their religion. 2. The result of this discrimination is torture for those that don't concede.

Given that Jesus supposedly lived here on Earth, did some controversial things, and then was tortured and killed by people who didn't agree with his beliefs means, I think, that he ought to know better than to turn around and use that exact same method of discrimination and excessive punishment on the whole of humanity.

Yep. Eternal damnation is not turning the other cheek nor loving thy neighbor. If Jesus participates he is a hypocrite.

Of course its all fanciful human-made paranoia. There will be no judgment day.

Forgiveness- it contradicts the bible, but it is the christian faith.

It's an odd religion.

Exodus 20:3

You shall have no other gods before me.

Its a lot more complex than that, but this is simple enough to get by.

The question is about Jesus. Jesus did not write Exodus... ignoring he didn't write anything, even pretending this fairytale were true, you'd be incorrect.

You'd need to find a place where Jesus changes his mind about forgiveness then talks about eternal torture. Otherwise participating would make him a hypocrite as laid out in the debate description.

The unrighteous will be eternally punished

Matthew 25

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ 44 Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ 45 Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ 46 And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Those who believe will be saved... not those who do not believe

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

You must have faith to please God

Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

The "faithless"

Revelation 21:8

But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

The unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality

The Word is the essence of Christ; therefore, that which is in the Bible is of God.

John 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life,[a] and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.

9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own,[b] and his own people[c] did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 ( John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks before me, because he was before me.’”) 16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.[d] 17 For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God; the only God,[e] who is at the Father's side,[f] he has made him known."

Would you like for me to keep going? I can find you parables about the unrighteous not being able to go to heaven.

Matthew 13

24 He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field, 25 but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds[a] among the wheat and went away. 26 So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also. 27 And the servants[b] of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’ 28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ 29 But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them. 30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’”

I'll stop there.... Hopefully this will allow you to think! I pray that you will soon be shown the righteousness and forgiveness of God! For without it, you will perish....

2 Corinthians 5:21

For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Isn't this wonderful?!!??! :DDD

No, it would make Him highly pissed off at having been nailed last time he was here. ;)

If he's really going to separate us, I hope he doesn't lump me in with the liberals ;)
