LGBT Bathroom Bills
We have all heard of the controversial LGBT bathroom bill passed in North Carolina few months ago. While some argue that such a bill is against the constitution, others argue they are protecting women and children from rapists and pedophiles. What do you think?
1) LGBT people have been around for as long as there has been a human race. They've been using the bathroom just as long. They've been choosing which bathroom just as long. It's practically unheard of for anyone to have been hurt by the practice. This is drummed up hysteria.
2) This entire debate is virtually identical to the hysteria about not letting Blacks using the same bathrooms as Whites. That's a disturbing parallel.

Don't listen to his non sequitors. We already believe that some beliefs are not subject to discrimination. He didn't address your argument at all. It doesn't matter if you choose to be transgender or not. They have been using the bathroom without a problem. Choosing to be transgender doesn't change the facts that you brought up.

Personally, I believe that it is an intentionally scathing dismissal of the rights given to all by the constitution. I think, however, the most awful part of the situation, regards the religious zealots stirring up the desire of parents to protect their kids to assert their agenda. NO transgender people have been reported as using gender identity as an excuse for being a "peeping tom." Even if there has been ONE instance of such a crime, punishing the many for the actions of a few is unjust, and the claim of religious freedom as an excuse is entirely false. When religious freedom obstructs the beliefs of others, or is used as a reason for discrimination it is not religious freedom. I dare say it is the same struggle faced by African Americans during the civil rights movement. Religion was used as an excuse, and the Bible at the forefront of such excuses. It is still used that way.

From what I've heard, 60 percent of people who mutilate their bodies attempting to be the gender they were not born to be end up committing suicide, so whoever we are talking about, only 40 percent of them will be around to care.......so that's like 1 in 5000 people. Why not just set up porta potties for gender-confused people We can use green ones so they are gender neutral in color, or paint them with rainbow patterns. I have posted a couple of links to incidents where this type of law has already been abused by perverts. One was in Seattle the other in the UK. Mostly though, it's just common sense.
