Let's say we've got 30 years worth of oil left. Will you be able to afford gas in year 25?

If we have 30 years left I doubt the average joe will be able to afford it after 15 years. The price hikes will be astronomical and those who can afford it will hoard it.

Pay attention here okay Jewel !!!!!!!!!!!

An assessment by the United States Geological Survey (USGS) in 2010 estimated that the amount of oil yet to be discovered in the NPRA is only one-tenth of what was believed to be there in the previous assessment, completed in 2002.[3] The 2010 USGS estimate says the NPRA contains approximately "896 million barrels of conventional, undiscovered oil".[3] The reason for the decrease is because of new exploratory drilling, which showed that many areas that were believed to hold oil actually hold natural gas.

The estimates of the amount of undiscovered natural gas in the region also fell, from "61 trillion cubic feet of undiscovered, conventional, non-associated gas" in the 2002 estimate, to 53 trillion cubic feet (1,500 km3) in the 2010 estimate.[3]

And by the way Dummy do you know your Loved Government is hoarding oil ?

What is wrong with you idiots is you know nothing at all because you cannot use the internet !!!!!!!!

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/StrategicPetroleumReserve(UnitedStates))

The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) is an emergency fuel storage of petroleum maintained underground in Louisiana and Texas by the United States Department of Energy (DOE). It is the largest emergency supply in the world, with the capacity to hold up to 727 million barrels (115,600,000 m3).[1] The United States started the petroleum reserve in 1975 after oil supplies were interrupted during the 1973–1974 oil embargo, to mitigate future supply disruptions.

The current inventory is displayed on the SPR's website.[2] As of February 1, 2019, the inventory was 649.1 million barrels (103,200,000 m3). This equates to about 35 days of oil at 2013 daily U.S. consumption levels of 18.49 million barrels per day (2,940,000 m3/d)[3] or 67 days of oil at 2013 daily U.S. import levels of 9.859 million barrels per day (1,567,500 m3/d).[4] However, the maximum total withdrawal capability from the SPR is only 4.4 million barrels per day (700,000 m3/d), so it would take over 150 days to use the entire inventory. At recent market prices ($69 a barrel as of December 2014),[5] the SPR holds over $18.0 billion in sweet crude and approximately $25.5 billion in sour crude (assuming a $15/barrel discount for sulfur content). The total value of the crude in the SPR is approximately $43.5 billion. The price paid for the oil is $20.1 billion (an average of $28.42 per barrel).[6]

Federal oil and gas resources provide an important source of energy for the United States; create jobs in the oil and gas industry; and generate billions of dollars annually in revenues that are shared between federal, state, and tribal governments. Interior reported collecting over $49 billion from fiscal years 2011 through 2015 from royalties and other payments. This makes oil and gas resources one of the federal government's largest sources of nontax revenue.

Jewel is your government going to do without oil and gas royalties ?

Really it is amazing how stupid you brain dead idiots are. Your ignorance is fed to you by the media that misinforms you on a daily basis because they are as stupid as you are.

Heating Oil

New Yorkers burn more than 1 billion gallons of heating oil every year which accounts for nearly 14% of fine particulate matter pollutants emitted into our air; more PM2.5 emissions than all cars and trucks in the city combined. This particulate matter contains many pollutants that are associated with respiratory and cardiac diseases. The City published a rule that requires all boilers in New York City burn low sulfur Number2 oil or natural gas. Low sulfur Number 2 oil — anew class of fuel created by state law — contains only 15 ppm of sulfur, compared to 3,000 ppm incurrent Numbers 4 and 6 heating oil. Upon full implementation, these regulations will reduce the amount of fine particles emitted from heating buildings by at least 63%. They could lower the overall concentration of fine particles in the city’s air from all sources by 5%. We estimate that these air quality improvements could prevent approximately 200 deaths, 100 hospitalizations, and 300 emergency room visits for illnesses caused by air pollution each year. The regulations will also reduce carbon dioxide by approximately one million metric tons.

Jewel what are the Leftist going to do without fuel oil ????????????

It's not that simple. Capitalism is actually good in this way; it forces the rich to care at the very least about the middle-class and lower-middle class albeit not necessarily for the lowest of the blue-collar and homeless.

What I mean is, they'd fight tooth and nail with suppliers of tech of the extraction and ability to somehow stretch out what's left to make it affordable to the masses because that's how they keep the profit rolling in. Specialist 'sell only to the rich' businesses like diamonds, gold etc are not what the truly rich Illuminati members enjoy or rely on. They love things like Insurance, Banking, Oil and Clothing industry; because the majority of humans can and will buy these things no matter how it evolves over time. Oh, and pharmaceutical products and so much else comes under this umbrella.

I have a much more negative view on this. They will hoard it for themselves and only sell it at an increased cost. Have you ever seen the movie, I think it was called In Time, with Justin Timberlake? I imagine it will be like that only with oil in place of time.

There's money to be made in selling the means of transportation to the widest possible market. Before oil prices get too high, prices for alternatives will get lower. As it is right now, electric cars are for the rich. When it is profitable to expand the market, that's what people will do. Though it likely will be something altogether different than lithium powered cars. It will be some innovation yet undiscovered.

Side: Gas will be for the RICH

In 30 years I doubt we have anywhere NEAR the demand for oil and gas (unless Trump is successful in becoming "permanent" like other dictators). Electric cars are getting better, solar and wind is generating energy, We haven't come near harnessing the tides yet. There may be more demand for algae than oil! Let's worry about renewable fuels, F--K OIL!

If the demand comes down, so will the price. If we get some of the money hoarded by the rich we could ALL afford it, anyway!

What evidence do you have to support that theory? Known fact is that oil is not from organic sources as they taught everyone in school. This means that oil is a product of geological processes. What evidence is there that oil isn't being formed every day.
