I have a... severe distaste for all forms of emotional connections with other human beings. I also have a contempt for western women. Needless to say, I disagree with the societal prescription to get married. I think more people get married than they should and I think people stay married for longer than they should. At the same time I believe a stable family is important for child rearing. Instead of advocating only marriage as a solution I think our culture should be more community focused. If children are raised by multiple adults it won't be so important to have a father and mother in the home. Side: It is

It's an outdated institution which favours the female of the partnership. A female can spend most of her day having coffee with her friends while her hard working, enterprising husband toils to pay the bills and put bread on the table. In the likely event of a divorce the lazy and useless woman is entitled to at least half of her husband's estate. In addition to this most people nowadays do not honour their vows and will run off with the ''Inn keeper's wench/Yankee sailor if the fancy so grabs them. So, why go through all the meaningless ceremony when most of those entering this legal agreement don't mean a word of what they say? Side: It is

Marriage antedates your haughty religion, no less does it antedates the precursors to your religion. Marriage exists in a variety of forms throughout almost every human society. Mankind has created marriage just as mankind created the gods to whom credit thereof is given. Side: It is
