This is the same as a triathlete vs Usain Bolt on 100m, not even fair... Everyone has the 'punchers chance' but this will be a methodical slaughter, non boxing fans will barely understand why conor can't just 'knock him out', meanwhile Floyd is landing at will happy to continue way beyond 30min, but it won't go that far. 3rd round Victory for Mayweather... Side: Floyd won't even get hit...
1) It's a boxing match by boxing rules, which automatically gives the boxing pro the advantage. If it were an MMA fight we could fairly believe the opposite, that the MMA fighter would take the boxer to the ground where he would totally overwhelm him. 2) Much of any fighter's ability is based on muscle repetition. If you learn to throw the right punch the right way and do it a million times then when you're in the mix you can do it almost unconsciously. The MMA fighter's conditioning will make him want to do MMA stuff occasionally and he'll have to catch and stop himself to not be penalized, and those moments of indecision will totally be to the advantage of the boxer. 3) McGregor may be bigger than Mayweather, but they have to match weight anyway at 154, and it's only 7 pounds more than Mayweather has fought at for most of his career. Some say it's an advantage for McGregor but I say Mayweather. As a boxer his 7 pound buildup will be almost entirely upper body, and since it's not an MMA fight that's precisely where you're best off adding the muscle. Meanwhile McGregor comes down a pound and essentially stays the same. Side: Floyd won't even get hit...

I agree wholeheartedly with both posts on the other side. Though I think Conor would win under MMA rules, there is a very good chance he is going to really get clowned under boxing rules. If so I suspect it will be bad for MMA overall and good for boxing Side: But if they were in a cage...
