Wait a minute wait a minute wait a minute... Harvard is older which is why it's so "famous." But Stephen... Aren't trying to get into Yale Law? Lol exactly because Yale Law is ENTIRELY superior in those regards - the reason why is because our law school has class sizes that contains as little as 15 students (everyone is guaranteed attention thus resulting in 0 slack).

Both are great schools. I think Yale is a bit more elite, but the whole notion is rather arbitrary.

I wouldn't really see myself fitting in at either, if I had the choice, I would still remain at my current school.

sighhh ; Jason... Nobody cares--or probably even knows--about the contents of our schooling. You need to post things like humanist topics: "Is abortion wrong," and things of that sort. Perhaps you could just respond to topics or give counterarguments.

But, if you must, Harvard ranks over Yale in Philosophy. The only schools above us is "Oxford" (of course) and NYU. Ha, get this, NYU is above Oxford... 0o

Oh really? What makes you suggest that?

PS: The debate topic says "which is more elite;" I can't see how was that comment is relevant to the debate... Ha, Is this some sort of displacement defense mechanism? Couldn't get accepted into your 'dream school'? If it is; aw, I'm so sorry to hear that :'( Don't take it out on me though.

I would have to say Harvard, but that is based on the following subjective observations and experience:

1. Harvard has a broader popularity among the general public. Maybe this was different in the '50's or '60's, but now Harvard is the most recognizable name. You could make the argument the more the mainstream recognizes a name or organization the lesselite it is but I don't buy into that argument.

2. I used to work with a young man who was attending Yale for his MBA only because he was trying to marry the daughter of the CEO of Pfizer. I can't remember if she wasgoing there or he was a yale man, but there was soome reason he war attending Yale and it wasn't because they were a great school.

3. Harvard alumni think Harvard is more elite. I was working at a company in Cambridge and when I was introduced to the team they asked which university I attended. I told them Marquette and was immediately an outcast. I didn't just come from the wrong siide of the river for which they would have tolerated me but instead I was almost shunned. These coworkers all went to Harvard.

So in summation, I believe that it is a subjective measure as to who is more elite, but Harvard students and alumni certainly act as if they are more elite and therefore win the perception is 95% reality battle!

I would agree; though, don't align those alumni with all Harvard alumni. I'm sure they were just privileged kids who only got in because of mommy and daddy. Frankly I can't believe anyone of that age would "shun" a man because of his college attendance. If your considerably intelligent, that is all that should matter.

Side: Harvard

I always hear of Harvard being the better of the two, and I know it's pretty hard to get into as well.
