The theme-park chain Six Flags is holding a "Muslim Family Day" at its Chicago park. The date? September 12th. Of course, every right-wingnut is ranting now about how this event is being held to celebrate the 9/11 attacks. That's right. Muslim Day at the Six-Flags amusement parks has been celebrating 9/11 since the year 2000!

The event was started a year before the attacks by a Muslim who himself was a victim of them. The September 12 event is being held to observe the end of the holy month of Ramadan on September 10, and was moved specifically to avoid the 9/11 date.

The 9/12 date, along with the ongoing controversy over the proposed Islamic cultural center planned for lower Manhattan, has made this year's Muslim Family Day problematic for Teapublicans and the mutant patridiotic FOX News-mutt bigots.

By the way, Six Flags is holding a Christian "Praise-A-Palooza" at it's St Louis park this year. The date? Saturday, September 11th. For the actual "Christian Family Day," you will need to wait until Saturday, August 14. [1]

I imagine that for Teapublicans, it is OK to celebrate Jesus on 9/11. After all, he is one of the Christian founding fathers of America, and not some swarthy Semite from the Mid-East.
