Muslims are, in general, more peaceable than Christians.
History has shown that the Muslim people will tolerate having Christians throughout their boarders, even when Christians persecuted Muslims when they came into Europe. The nation of Lebanon, with a Muslim majority, has banned the book 'The Da Vinci Code' because they consider it offensive towards Christianity. Would a Christian nation ban a book that is offensive to Muslims?
If you counted the number of non-peaceful acts done by every individual within each religion, dividing it by the number of members of each religion, I imagine you would find Muslims to be generally more peaceable than Christians.
That's not saying much, of all the religions I believe if you could apply this equation you would find Christians to be the most blood thirsty of the lot, and I believe Muslims would be a close second.
However, one should not generalize a group of people. There are some good Christians and some good Muslims - dumb the both of them - but not bad people.
I believe they would be good people though without religion. And many in history and currently who to awful things in the name of god of course would be better people without this god they use to justify evil.
Therefore, everyone is better off without religion.
It's difficult and not helpful anyway to generalize a people, generalizing a religion is okay I think, but not the people within.
Has history - even their own history books - not proven the Jews to be especially violent? The Old Testament is extremely bloody - it's not Christian, it's Jewish.
i will be honest on this some are peaceful and some are not but why is most of the debates about muslims stop wasteing life because muslim dont care what you people say about them

Well I have never heard of any Christian terrorists but I do hear of Muslim terrorists. Some muslims are peaceful but some of them are really violent. And I dont think there are any Christian terrorists.
And a group was just recently arrested for planning to kill a bunch of cops at a funeral in the name of the Christian god because they believed it would begin the Apocalypse or whatever silly thing Revalations is babbling on about.

Where did it say anything about torturing in that web article? It was talking about a pact between essentially Muslims and Christians. None of it provoked violence, in face one of the parts of the pact was Whoever strikes a Muslim with deliberate intent shall forfeit the protection of this pact.
It isn't that I disagree with you on the ideal of Christians torturing or killing those that do not believe in the past. However Muslims are killing those who do not follow their religious beliefs and those who opt out of being Muslim as of the present. Whereas Christians are as of the present not having any crusades or anything of the sort, so in the past Muslims may have been more peaceable than Christians. However the status quo of today is not the same as it was over a thousand years ago.
The list may go on and Christians may be violent, however not nearly as violent as the Muslim religion as a whole.
Anti-homosexual rallies usually do not end up in mass slaughterings of innocents via suicide bombings.
Abortion is not solely Christians, and it is mainly a choice few Christian radicals. I myself being Christian am totally for abortion, it is a split thing not the religion as a whole.
The list may go on, however the list does not usually involve blood shed. As the Muslim religion condones.
Just like most Christians don't go to anti homosexual rallies, if they did there would be almost no homosexuals. Same goes for anti abortion rallies, if they did there would be no more abortion debate in America.
The point being when there are riots and things of the like a suicide bomber is usually being looked out for.
There are radicals of both religions, matter of fact there are radicals in every religion. Just seems that Muslims have been given a fairly bad reputation.
More or less it is hard to say who is more peaceable, as you have to calculate in the past with the present.
You disregarded my argument towards your whole " Muslims aren't all suicide bombers... " why? Was I right?

They had no choice - they were within the Islamic Empire. If it had been reversed, they'd have killed the Muslims as heretics.
You said non-Christians were tortured and killed, you didn't site a document in which you were referencing I took it as a whole. To which that pact isn't the law of Christian and Muslim hate crimes towards one another.
Christians and Catholics are not the same thing. Most Catholics are Christians while most Christians are not Catholic.
So if they did not agree to the pact they would have been killed? Doesn't sound peaceable to me =P

It isn't "Muslims don't kill that many nonbelievers." In the west, Christian terrorism is relatively unheard of present day. In Africa it still happens but with a relatively low frequency compared to the middle east and north Africa. In south asia inter-sect violence between Muslims and Christians still happens.
There are some Muslims who do that. There are some Christians who do that as well though. Historically Christians have done it more - that may be only due to opportunity though, not necessarily some flaw in the religion...
Well, no more of a flaw than the flaws I see in any religion, but I think you know what I'm saying.

They are lists of terrorist attacks perpetrated in only the last five years. The vast majority of them are Muslim sectarian violence and Muslim resistance bombings. There's your answer.
No way, Muslims come off as peaceful people that is the tactic they use to snake there way into different societies. As soon as they have some leverage or voice they force their views on the rest of the population in that society. If the rest of the people do not fall into their beliefs or views they use terrosism and or simply kick those people out of their own countries. This is a proven historical fact and even a present day occurance. Im not saying they are all bad but the ones that are far out weigh the good ones and Im not personally willing to stake my future or my childrens on "Good Faith". Have we forgotten the original reason this country was formed? Religious persecution! Yes they were escaping from similiar problems we face today with these religious radicals! The founders of this country believed in expression of freedom no matter what your belief is, we shed tons of blood for that right and Im not just going to stand by and hand it over like some kind of panzy! This is the United States of America, believe in what you want and respect my beliefs as well if not we will do what history has shown. We will not only roll over you we will go straight to the root and finish the job! Currently we are still asleep but make no mistake, if you want proof just ask Germany and Japan!
Christianity is one of the most peaceful religions in the world alongside buddhism.
Arent muslims the religion that do suicidal bombings? In most Muslim countries, women are discriminated over where they cannot go outside without wearing a headscarf and in some countries they are not allowed to run away from their husbands. (I watched a show on BBC Three about it) Christians are always being tormented and teased on tv and the internet. Shows like Family Guy who constantly make jokes that are offensive to Christians. but you dont see us throwing violent protests or killing the person that made Family Guy. In UK, some journalist made a 'funny' cartoon about Mohammed and chaos followed after. There was various protests where they were saying "BEHEAD EVIL JOURNALIST" and throwing stuff into fire, and it was just a silly cartoon. Thats why Muslims are rarely mocked and teased because the world has become afraid of them.
I don't think religion has any affect on the number of violent individuals in a society. There should be no correlation between the two. The reason Christians may have been more violent in the past is probably because of who was in power.
This is extremely tiring, not all people who claim to be Christians are such, not all who claim to be Muslims are Muslims, that is why debates like this never get anywhere.
