Nerds can be cool, while still demonstrating superior intelligence!

Nerds are socially awkward intellectuals. I'd rather be a smart outcast than a cool freak.

Actually, I'm both Nerd and Geek. But I'm arguing for the Nerds today. :)

I've always thought that a nerd is someone who cares about knowledge and learning more than most people.

And a geek is someone who is focused more on hobbies.

If you spend all day playing World of Warcraft, you're a geek. If you spend all day on a debate website, you're a nerd.

At least nerdy activities have some redeeming value.

I think the word Nerd makes it sound like the person is smart but introverted and maybe socially awkward. Being a geek is worse, its like being a Nerd without a brain.

Because a nerd is more popular and is smart but isnt to the super cool level yet plus i asked ppl at my school and they all said being a nerd is better so hey cant fight the facts

I'm actually with the nerds side more, though geeks are also fun. But to come and mention it, I'm really between the two. I'm a really huge nerdy in a way that i always want to have high marks at school & at the same time I'm a geeky cuze i also spent hours playing xbox360, psp and learning lots in the computer programs :D

Haven't you heard you friends refer to your "geeky" activities ... it was never said with admiration.

Being a geek is much better than being a nerd. Geeks at least have sweet techie skills that they can use to show off, whereas nerds are just socially awkward and have no chance of impressing anyone.

Well I am not saying geeks are better than nerds or viceversa, but if geeks get good at something they do constantly it is a good thing, while at the same time they still get more knowledge about it like the nerds.

I'm going to argue for geeks simply because they seem to be losing and I like to root for the underdog. I don't know if I'm a geek or a nerd, I've been called both at various points in my life.
