(No Bans) Same sex couples have the right to get married.
Dana has banned 3 people from the other debate in as many minutes. If you want to debate it without fear if getting banned feel free. Not that you would want to as it is a done to death topic anyway..

The act of marriage and a marriage license are two different things. The government uses a marriage license to document a change in status. This is a bureaucratic tool. Whether or not different unions are considered valid forms of marriage (applicable towards a license) is entirely up to the electorate of a democratic nation. Side: Yes

I have a few problems with your response here. I wish a most horrible death on anyone who disagrees. Why? It's a disagreement. I wouldn't wish such a thing on another person regardless of what they did or want to do. I think we just need to be tolerant of others views. Gay couples are so cute, what kind of heartless creature could turn around and tell us we can't get married? Couldn't I just say straight couples are cute? I think using that as an argument is too subjective. I think the acceptance of gays varies by culture and area. Christians have no right to tell us what to do; they are scum. I don't think all Christians are against gay marriage. There are non-Christians that don't support gay marriage. I wouldn't call anyone scum though. Side: Yes

But even if you personally hold that view, do you believe that view should be codified into law? If so, then how can you expect people to believe you don't hate a group of people when you want to deny said group of people their civil rights (and by extension Constitutional Rights) based on your personal beliefs, when they are not impacting your life at all?
