CreateDebate is a social debate community built around ideas, discussion and democracy.
If this is your first time checking out a debate, here are some quick tips to help get you started:
Arguments with the highest score are displayed first.
Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.
Once you vote, the icon will become grayed out and the argument's score will change.
Yes, you can change your vote.
Debate scores, side scores and tag scores are automatically calculated by an algorithm that primarily takes argument scores into account.
All scores are updated in real-time.
To learn more about the CreateDebate scoring system, check out the FAQ.
When you are ready to voice your opinion, use the Add Argument button to create an argument.
If you would like to address an existing argument, use the Support and Dispute link within that argument to create a new reply.
I'm not a psychological specialist, but if you are feeling this depressed on a regular basis then you should go see a therapist.
We all know America is filled with bad people, but it's also filled with good people. I'm fairly positive that you will meet these people and they will improve the current quality of your life.
I was diagnosed with depression myself, and I know for a fact that such a way of thinking is a red flag that something (medically) is seriously wrong. Sometimes I think that way, and I can catch myself before falling back into it.
If you can't see a psychologist, then spend time with a friend, and go for a few runs. And, yes, you just might have to force yourself into doing it. Playing video games with my friends, particularly minecraft, always changes my mood.
To be honest, I still fail to see a point in life, (except enjoying it) focus on finding a worthwhile investment in life (like the above). Go outside, make shit out of wood or something. Doing these things will get you back on track to enjoying life as a whole, but in the mean time, I understand that life being depressed is simply not worth living.
Hmm.. We all all die in the end anyway. Why postpone the inflatable any longer? It only gives you more time to think about how your feeble existence is really totally insignificant and how either way, die now or later, you'll still be dead. Just get it over with.
HA I JOKE of course, but really you're an idiot if you listened to what I aid :L
I can see where you get the inference that he is displaying disapproval of some poor people, and perhaps it is unfounded as well, but it is utter bullshit to accuse ColdTheDog of displaying hostility to the poor.
This is what I mean by you making flagrant, inaccurate, and inflammatory accusations towards those you disagree with. His religious convictions are made no more relevant when you shoehorn them into the discussion, and drag them in the mud.
EDIT: typos; it's what I get for using mobile to type full paragraphs.
Oh, no. I'm just saying that often when a Christian member gets involved in a debate, they talk about religion, regardless of the relevancy that their religion has.
No Im not. I support moderate taxation in general. I have no problem paying taxes because I know the money is needed to provide public services. I believe in providing for the poor. I think everyone should pay their fair share in tax money. I support a 10% income tax with no other taxes. It is just enough to support the poor without taxing people to death. This dispute is to present my views, not to be mean. I wish ye well. :)
That is complety off topic. If you're saying that god tells CHRISTIANS to be like Jesus, then you can only use how Jesus acted as a metric for how Christians act.
And no, that is not by any means "moderate" taxation. It's highly Libertarian to impose a 10 percent sales, estate, gift, capital gains, payroll, etc tax (apart from being flat out retarded). Of course, mentioning your views on the tax code for non Christians wasn't exactly brilliant to begin with.
1) I didn't call you a Libertarian, I just said that such a policy is highly Libertarian.
2) I didn't deny that you are familiar with your beliefs, nor did I deny that you have a right to hold them. Square wheels are not illegal, they're just retarded.
That is sorely wrong. Why don't you say that to Hellno, he'll clarify that Libertarians do.
Capital L Libertarian refers to the political party. The same party that you have a link to in your party.
It's clear that you don't even understand the basic platform of the Libertarian party that you have a freaking link to in your profile. Yet you get all uppity when I call you a tard....
I... Never... Claimed... that you're a Libertarian. Also, you should be asking if capital L Libertarians (as in the Libertarian party) believe in taxation, not "libertarians".
I am not a libertarian anymore. I just forgot to edit my profile. My beliefs still belong to me and it is not appropriate for you to speak to me if you hate me so much. I want nothing to do with you, so leave me alone. I dont have to tolerate being called a retard or deal with your verbal abuse.
You can be a lower case l "libertarian" and a liberal, although in my view being a capital L libertarian and an american style liberal is unlikely, and arguably impossible.
