No Strategy For Defeating ISIS

It's been a year since Mosul fell under control of ISIS.

Why do we still not have a strategy to destroy ISIS?

Because we have a President who made one of his priorities to pull out of Iraq regardless of the consequences even knowing their army wasn't up to containing terrorism. All the American blood shed to free that country has been for naught, and worse, due to a faction Obama naively termed a "JV Team", ISIS. Not surprising from a JV President who had no business EVER being elected.

i don't understand why people think this government wants to destroy something it created.

We do have a strategy. The US, along with many other nations, have been carrying out this strategy for over a year.

I think your question should be: "Why hasn't the strategy for defeating ISIL worked yet?"

The answer to this is simple. These are rebels/revolutionaries/terrorists. Fighting a war against any insurgency takes time. This is evidenced by almost every "civil" war throughout history.

He said there is no complete strategy because he actually has to figure out how to implement a strategy. Kill them all is not a strategy.

Well, if you read the articles you cited, they all basically claim: "President Obama said Monday the United States does not have a complete plan to train and equip Iraqi forces to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), saying Baghdad needs to show a greater commitment to building a fighting force."

This suggests that the strategy is to help the locals fight ISIL. The US just does not have a better strategy for doing this since we did this all before (during the Bush era as well as the current Obama era).

There is a strategy. It just happens to be the same strategy we have used for a while now.

We have no strategy for defeating ISIS. ISIS is on US soil. We are fighting a war on our own soil. We are in serious trouble. Soon we will be the new Vietnam, the new Middle East, where you can't tell who the good guy is or who the bad guy is. We are not taking any serious action and it is going to cost us American Lives on American soil. We should be ashamed!

Yes that's true as well. Why do we not strike forcefully against such a clear threat.

President Obama stated that the I.S, strategy was still incomplete. My assessment is that the strategy of ''containment'' and letting the Arab states handle the maniacs which they spawned themselves is the strategy, and it is so far being relatively successful. Why do some people expect the United States to have an answer to every world problem in their back pocket? The crazed psychopathic terrorists which go to make up the I.S, must be eradicated by the Arab nations.

Yes, the strategy of containment has however failed. ISIS is spreading toward Baghdad.

Why do some people expect the United States to have an answer to every world problem in their back pocket.

Because this is not just an abstract world problem. ISIS has spoken the threats to put their flag over the WH.

The Muslim filth also aspire to have their flag of barbarism and repression flying over the centres of democracy of all the western nations, and indeed those of the rest of the world. It's not the sole responsibility of the United States to once again be the vanguard in the fight against evil aggression. The European states must take a more active roll in this conflict and contribute significantly more to the cost of defeating the Islamic dirt bags.

How dare you call Muslims filth in fact I should remind you that Muslims are no barbarians as you might imagine and Muslims also doesn't ask people to fight like this and also for your information Muslims are not Islamic dirt bags however I am quite sure the ISIS doesn't only consists of Muslims in fact how would you know unless you interrogated them as far as I am concerned these ISIS might also be of other religions just because they are from Iraq they can't only be Muslims.

How to defeat ISIS? Don't arm and fund them. It's that simple. Come on folks, everyone looking for a cure yet never look at the cause. ISIS is NOTHING but a group of boogeymen created for another profitable war for the special interest
