Obama Administration spent 75 Million securing Mexico's Southern Border
President Barack Obama has slammed Donald Trump’s proposal to make Mexico pay for a border wall, but his own administration has spent $75 million for border security on Mexico’s southern border. Since 2013 the Obama administration through a partnership with the Mexican government known as the Mérida Initiative has already spent at least $15 million helping Mexico secure its southern border. With U.S. support, the Mexican government has been implementing a southern border security plan since 2013 that has involved the establishment of 12 advanced naval bases on the country’s rivers and three security cordons that stretch more than 100 miles north of the Mexico-Guatemala and Mexico-Belize borders.
American taxpayer dollars have gone to Mexico to protect their borders and the Progressives have not a word to say !

I think your thread highlights the slovenly approach Obama had to his responsibilities of;- if a job's worth doing, it's ''NOT'' worth doing well. I feel Obama's half hearted, anaemic attempt to control America's borders and protect it's citizens was a consequence of him permitting his ethnic background to generate a misplaced sympathy for, and to empathize with the millions of illegal immigrants and Mexican criminals who have destroyed the lives of countless American citizens. History will not treat Obama well. When I was working I spent a lot of time in Texas. Taking just ONE place of business I worked at (In Addison), There was a company that worked 3 shifts. EVERY "worker" was Salvadoran or Mexican other than the Maintenance man and several supervisors. I didn't count them but there were about 30 to a shift. Good workers, but, making $4-$5 an hour for $12 - $18/hr. jobs in most states. The CEO drove a V12 Mercedes. Management was , by their talk and actions VERY much conservative. THERE is the reason we are even TALKING about a wall ... capitalistic GREED! This was during the Bush Admin., when Dubya was encouraging "south of the border" workers to "Come to America"! "We need workers that do the work Americans wont do"! Thousands of Americans were "doing" those same jobs in places where they would pay wages that would cover their mortgages, their medical bills, their kid's college expenses. $4 - $5/hr. just wouldn't cut it! Mexicans actually stopped (mostly), coming here (many even left), when these same capitalists started sending OUR jobs to Mexico, but, Mexicans hired Mexicans and so we have more Salvadorans, Guatemalans, etc. crossing the border. A WALL isn't going to help enough to cover the cost of building it! If Trump would maybe increase the number of drone over the many Obama put in place it would be considerably cheaper AND create many jobs. But, "the man who would be King" MUST stand by his hubris! Trump will spend many BILLIONS$ to make the world hate U.S.. Many will miss Obama, shortly. It is the capitalists willingness to hire "cheap" workers, instead of taking "reasonable profits" to keep Americans working, keep America strong. Put the majority of the blame on greedy capitalists and the party that "enables them"! I would suspect that, given The Donald's budding relationship with Mexico, they will close their eyes to those coming across and maybe even help them get to our border where they WILL find a way, wall or not! AND, in desperation, become criminals. Humans will not die without a fight. No to government work. I was able to work because a UNION backed me up years ago (60), when a capitalist conservative tried to dump me. (7 times)! I won all 7 times. when I left that company after 19 years (do to a strike), I think I was the LAST one he wanted to lose. I worked AT a business in Texas for a huge German company and AT businesses all over the world. 47 of the 50 states and 15 countries. I was in Spain on 9/11. I saw all kinds of world wide business problems and workers. WE lost a LOT when Reagan destroyed unions, like the middle class. Capitalism, like unions, need regulation, but we need BOTH. We, the U.S., will never be great again without the two working together. 1
