Obama's Oil tax

Obama has proposed an oil tax of 10 dollars per barrel. This could lead to an increase of 25 cents per gallon on gasoline. Obama will use the money to fund a new green transportation plan. This tax will hit the poor and middle class the hardest. Should we do it?

Just another way for Obama to nail the oil companies and the poor and middle class.

If implemented, once the tax is collected it will probably be used for everything but what it was intended for. The gov't is the most incompetent and inefficient way to fund any cause.

Ours currently is, but government isn't inherently so.

So instead of adopting defeatism why not, you know, fix the problem.

That said, this oil tax is a terrible regressive approach (I mean regressive in the tax sense, not in the obnoxious sense many progressives use).
