Obesity in America is finally starting to come down

After listening to so much depressing news about the economy, the passage of health care, etc, we finally get some good news.  People are finally starting to slim down.

http://www.reuters.com/article/healthNews/idUSTRE5AF42220091116?rpc=64

"More than 49 million Americans -- one in seven -- struggled to get enough to eat in 2008, the highest total in 14 years of a federal survey on "food insecurity," the U.S. government said Monday.

While Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said programs such as food stamps softened the impact of an economic recession, anti-hunger groups pointed to the huge increase from the preceding year when 36.2 million people had trouble getting enough food and a third of them occasionally went hungry."

I am was so desparate to hear some good news before the 2010 elections where we will finally get a chance to make things right again, that I found it refreshing to hear such good news. ;)

I'm more worried about starvation in 100s of other countries than obesity in America.

Really, fat people, who gives a fuck. Let them eat their shit and do nothing all day. This is America, land of the FREE.

This does not necessarily mean that the obesity rate is going down, one of the major problems with the impoverished is that because of their lack of money they are forced to buy food that is low in nutrition and they become fat while at the same time being malnourished.

And of course the Democrats in this article whine about how there needs to be more federal government involved... it has gotten to the point where they might as well remove the part from the 10th amendment that says "are reserved to the states or the people." to "the government can do whatever it wants."
