Online shopping vs shopping in stores

I am conducting this research in order to see whether shopping in stores has become so popular, that it might overpower the need to shop in stores. Developments in technology are continuously increasing, as is online shopping. Through this, consumers are able to use websites through which they can see where the best bargains are for their desired product. They are able to shop for any product around the world from their couch at home. But does this convenience of online shopping also overpower the need to go to stores to shop? My statement therefore is

The convenience of online shopping surpasses the need to  shop in stores

I agree for many reasons.. Nowadays, we are all extremely busy. Shopping online can be very pleasant since you can do this whenever suits you, the ''online shops'' are open day & night. In addition, most of the online stores have an assortment that outshines those of physically present stores. Also, the overview online stores give of the diversity in assortments allows you to see what they have in a very short amount of time.

What I also personally very much like is that online, no sellers are physically present with the purpose of making you buy certain products or items. You choose and you have the privacy to do so, no one is ''looking over your shoulder''.

I love that you can order as much as you want, try it out in your own comfort zone, your house, and send it back if its not up to your wishes.

Online Shopping store is best because they sell quality dresses at a reasonable price then shopping from a store.

Although I'm pretty sure the online shopping is very popular, I doubt it will take down the stores. I bet the money spent online is a very small per mille compared to regular stores.

People don't trust online shopping - you are giving your credit card information, and they don't ask for any kind of password for your card. All the information is on the card you are using, so if you found a credit card, you could easily rob the credit card's owner for thousands by shopping online. Not to mention when giving your credit card information, you can easily get hacked. Also there are shopping sites that aren't legit, and if the shopper doesn't check before he gives his information to these sites .. yeah .. you can probably guess what happens.

Online shopping will have to really improve their safety. You can grocery shop online, but .. grocery shops are everywhere, and for your online groceries to arrive will probably take more time than for you to do it yourself. I doubt online grocery shopping will ever be popular amongst city people - maybe by people who live far from any stores.

I disagree with the notion ''People don't trust online shopping''.. As you say many people do shop online and if you know what kind of safety measures the specific online shop has taken, you can kind of estimate how safe it is.. Your wallet can also be stolen out of your handbag while shopping in a store, your card can be ribbed anywhere as well..

Also I disagree with ''Although I'm pretty sure the online shopping is very popular, I doubt it will take down the stores. I bet the money spent online is a very small per mille compared to regular stores.''

Since a lot of stores have been closing due to the online competition. Maintaining a physical store costs way more than an online store..

But the wallet is your responsibility, but when online shopping, you are basically giving someone else your wallet, so they can take the money out of it themselves. And you just need to trust that.

if you know what kind of safety measures the specific online shop has taken, you can kind of estimate how safe it is..

Do you think it is safe? For the average person who has an average understadning of internet and .. so on, he has no idea how to spot a rip off website.

Since a lot of stores have been closing due to the online competition. Maintaining a physical store costs way more than an online store..

Maybe in America. Not at all here. (Denmark)

I have a ritual when it comes to shopping. Now and then I start 'craving' for shopping and then I start to look online and look at all the different kinds of clothes stores have online. And from that I either decide to purchase it online if I am sure that the clothes have a regular fit and they will probably fit me, but if I'm not sure about the fit or weather for instance the colour will look good on me, I will go to the store and try things on there. I love both! Shopping online and shopping in physical stores!

I disagree, because even though online shopping is convenient, I still like to go in stores to see the products, to touch them and to see how they work. Through actually seeing them, I can see if I actually like them or not. For me this works better than just seeing a picture online

Side: Disagree

There are many products that I like to purchase on-line but I like to purchase my clothes inside a retail store.
