Our opinions are facts.

Our opinions are facts, but those facts are not necessarily valid or invalid inferences.

(This is for all of you who love to use the term 'fact' as a validation of an argument without proving the truth or falsity of the fact of inference.)

I always think of opinions as facts for myself. (not the most healthy way to think I admit)

-But the key word is "myself". So no. It is not enough in a debate. You need actual facts.

By treating your opinions as fact, aren't you neglecting change?

Side: No

But by neglecting change, the "fact" remains a fact. Therefore, until they are changed, your opinions are a fact.

No. I never said I "treat" my opinions as fact. It's just kind of the way I look at it.

When I realize I'm wrong I admit it and move on.

The fact is that only real facts are factual (i.e., factually facts). And that's the fact, Jack :)

People that view their opinions as being facts, are very egotistical. Even if you try to look up info. to back up your point of view, the information is bias and applies only to the individuals' opinion.

Side: No

I disagree. It is a fact that we have opinions, and it is a fact that some people view their opinions as facts, but opinions are by no stretch of the imagination facts.

Prove to me that there are facts first.

-

Note the irony there.

Side: No

The problem I have with that response is that some things are facts within yourself. These facts can be proven to a certain extent, whether it be from prior knowledge or something that you think.

For example:

McDonalds is disgusting.

"Prove it to be a fact"

Prove it to not be a fact.

Aparently you didn't get my irony. Here's some more for you.

The basis of your argument does not make sence. What it all boils down to is this. Facts are real, reality is physical, physical is matter, matter is energy, energy is fact. Thoughts are conjurations, conjurations are not physical, conjurations are not real.

- Disambigulation

• McDonalds (physical) is disgusting (non-physical)

>•Physical is Non-Physical

>>• f(x)=x, when x' is inequal to x"

>>• SINTAX

Yeah, that's why i said that your own "facts" are bias and not in themselves facts but are personal opinions. And how dare you speak of Mcdonalds in such a way (kidding).

Side: No

Absolutely not! Your opinions mean nothing. My opinions, on the other hand, are absolutely, 100% FACT!!

Side: yes

Yeah, that's true. You are always right. Forgive my ignorance.

i hope that, that was some sort of weak attempt at making a joke

Side: yes

Yes, that was a joke. I've seen similar ones and thought I'd give it a whirl.
