P6: Was it right for Atticus to break the rules and continue to read to Scout at night?

Yes, it was right

I think that it was right because they aren't really breaking any rules, scouts teacher is trying to push her morals onto the other students and there is nothing wrong with someone disagreeing and choosing not to follow someone else's morals.

I think that it was right for atticus to continue reading with scout cause it was something that they bonded over. so if they stop then they could loose bonding moments and could let them drift farther away. It also helped scout get ahead of her class. Reading at home with someone who she trusted and was close to helped her jump ahead of her class and will help her get a better education in the future

It may not be ethical, but Atticus felt that was the best possible thing to do for his child.

He was teaching her to make compramises for the right reason especially for her education

Side: Yes, it was right

yeah he should keep teaching her how to read, it helps her and if atticus thinks its right/ his moral then he should

Side: Yes, it was right
2 points

i think it was moral because she was getting taught something that naturally came to her. instead the teacher wanted to keep her knowledge down.

Side: Yes, it was right

it's not bad to read to your child, and the teacher trying to say that it was bad that she picked up how to read because of that isn't right

Side: Yes, it was right
1 point

yes because she can do what she wants because its her self and she can do how she feels

Side: Yes, it was right
1 point

It was right because she is still getting education just a little faster than the other kids and she still is going to go to school

Side: Yes, it was right

It was not ethical but it was right for Scout to listen to her father and it was a way to encourage Scout to go to school.

Side: Yes, it was right

i feel like it was right because its just reading, it wont really make a different school career, she should listen to her father more than her teacher, her father probably is/went further in life

Side: Yes, it was right

I think it is okay because my parents taught me how to read. I don't think Scout should listen to other peoples moral. She seems to be doing better with learning with her father, and by respecting his morals it shows her being a good daughter.

Side: Yes, it was right

I think that its okay for her to keep reading, for it helps her to learn, her teacher's rule is moral. She should chose whomever she wants to follow, but she should keep reading in my opinion, you cannot just tell a child to stop reading. its like telling them to stop learning.

Side: Yes, it was right

She needs to learn so she doesn't live in a crappy home. So she should just beat the teacher, and make her quite her job

Side: Yes, it was right

i think that it is OK for him to keep reading to her because the teacher is telling her that atticus cant teach her and is controlling what she cant and can not do. and if atticus thinks that it is best for scout then he should make that decision.

Side: Yes, it was right

If she is prohibiting her to read and learn by herself which does nothing bad, then that could affect the way she learns and her education for the benefit and morals of the teacher and maybe that could come up in the court of law for denying education

Side: Yes, it was right

yes it was right, Atticus did not break any rules, was only trying to educate her more

Side: Yes, it was right

it is not because teacher suck but they are right most of the time actually not really teachers just suck.

Side: No, it was not right

No, Breaking the rules is bad and if he breaks the rules i think he should lose his job

Side: No, it was not right

If the teacher was going to teach her a more effective and easier way to read but Atticus's teaching was stepping in front of that, its doing more harm than help

Side: No, it was not right

they should have followed the curriculum and followed the rules because if they dint then scout could become special

Side: No, it was not right
1 point

no because they would have gotten in serious trouble. because they are breaking rules and i think she should have listened to the teacher

What serious trouble? A better education and maybe a pat on the wrist is all that will happen.

Side: Yes, it was right
1 point

i think that it was wrong because it was teaching scout that breaking rules is ok and nothing will happen. It also is putting scout at risk for getting in trouble with her teacher and maybe even the school

Side: No, it was not right

he shouldn't be disrespecting her. She seems to be smarter then him.
