Argument replies (both in favor and in opposition) are displayed below the original argument.
To follow along, you may find it helpful to show and hide the replies displayed below each argument.
To vote for an argument, use these icons:
You have the power to cast exactly one vote (either up or down) for each argument.

I think that it was right because they aren't really breaking any rules, scouts teacher is trying to push her morals onto the other students and there is nothing wrong with someone disagreeing and choosing not to follow someone else's morals.
I think that it was right for atticus to continue reading with scout cause it was something that they bonded over. so if they stop then they could loose bonding moments and could let them drift farther away. It also helped scout get ahead of her class. Reading at home with someone who she trusted and was close to helped her jump ahead of her class and will help her get a better education in the future
i feel like it was right because its just reading, it wont really make a different school career, she should listen to her father more than her teacher, her father probably is/went further in life
I think it is okay because my parents taught me how to read. I don't think Scout should listen to other peoples moral. She seems to be doing better with learning with her father, and by respecting his morals it shows her being a good daughter.
I think that its okay for her to keep reading, for it helps her to learn, her teacher's rule is moral. She should chose whomever she wants to follow, but she should keep reading in my opinion, you cannot just tell a child to stop reading. its like telling them to stop learning.
i think that it is OK for him to keep reading to her because the teacher is telling her that atticus cant teach her and is controlling what she cant and can not do. and if atticus thinks that it is best for scout then he should make that decision.
If she is prohibiting her to read and learn by herself which does nothing bad, then that could affect the way she learns and her education for the benefit and morals of the teacher and maybe that could come up in the court of law for denying education
If the teacher was going to teach her a more effective and easier way to read but Atticus's teaching was stepping in front of that, its doing more harm than help
i think that it was wrong because it was teaching scout that breaking rules is ok and nothing will happen. It also is putting scout at risk for getting in trouble with her teacher and maybe even the school
