Only the pen can make shiny, neat looking black ink marks on paper. Pencils cannot be used to have a "Marker War", but pens can. Pens have a one syllable name, so you save energy just by TALKING about them compared to the extra work you'd have to go through to say that other word: "pen-sil". So basically, the pen is superior in every conceivable way.

It is so much more convenient and faster to write with a good liquid/gel pen. The ink flows nice and neat and makes make writing faster and easier on your hand, when hand writing long text segments. Ink looks more official and not you don't have to mess with how sharp the tip is or how much lead you have and Mechanical pencils always jam.

I'm a leftie, and though i get pen on my wrist, it doesn't irritate as much as when I get lead on my hand. I get red spots from it. And honestly, I like writing in all the pretty fluorescent colours that pens come in :P

• The erasers on the pencils don’t work well, most of the time they don’t erase, and they make the paper the color of the eraser.

• You don’t need to sharpen pens.

• Pencils smudge a lot, and pens won’t.

• Pens can be used as a defense tool against random muggers.

• Erasable pens will completely erase the ink, while pencils usually leave a mark on the paper.
