Really it does?I do wonder what you're thinking when you say it helps in tree conservation;it chokes very much like cigarettes, plastics are very much used in the petrochemicals,if I'm not wrong

Plastics are made from oil refining byproducts. The damage plastic garbage has done and is doing to the earth is unbelievable.

But they are not a sustainable replacement as crude oil is running out. Also plastics damage the environment as well as deforestation.

How exactly? This is a vague point. I just can't see how this point is true. If it can kill animals, then plastic would kill trees.

Side: plastic is harmful

Plastics damage the environment and crude oil is running out so they aren't renewably sourced.

Plastics have revolutionized industry and, as they have largely replaced natural materials such as rubber, glass, rope and tin, now form an integral part of out every day life. However, the fact that the wide range of plastic products, as a derivative of the petro- chemical industry, are non-bio-degradable they have an enormously negative impact on to the planet and the quality of our every day life and represent a serious threat to all wildlife. From discarded plastic fishing nets trapping and killing 100s of species of marine life to the unsightly mess they cause to the countryside and our towns and villages. I remember going to Frome in Somerset many years ago and being overawed at the beauty and charm of this historical town. On a more recent visit I was so disappointed to note how plastic bags blocked the river and caused a build up of stagnant stinking debris which would otherwise have flowed away. Frome still is a beautiful town but, like towns and villages worldwide, it's original charm has been marred by the existence of the deadly plastic. We can get by very well without nature's enemy.

Well, non biodegradable and certainly a choking thing for aquatics

As far as human morale goes, plastic is not "good".

In this situation, the usefulness of it in our economy and for trees- as someone on the opposite side said- is of no consequence when we realise that at least a dozen turtles are choking on our garbage.

There are many fast growing plants, such as bamboo, palm and hemp, that can be used in place of old growth timber.

Plastics, nylon, polyester, and detergents all are bad for the environment and humanity. They all made from byproducts of oil refining. There was perfectly fine items being made and used that plastics put out of business. Hemp rope was one of the things. That was the main reason marijuana was outlawed, because of hemp, not kind that gets you high.

In my view, plastics are very harmful for the environment because they cannot be decomposed even after decades. Plastic Products creates air pollution if they are burnt, soil pollution if buried, water pollution if thrown in rivers or water bodies. Everyone should try to minimize the use of plastics from their daily basis. Instead of plastics we can use eco friendly products that are made from recycled materials like Eco-friendly lanyards, paper bags, an many more items.

By this way we can support the sustainability of our mother earth.

Supporting Evidence: Eco-friendly lanyards (wristbandsireland.com)
