I agree with you 100%. Why? Because political correctness is just another version of racism and it shows that even if a majority of people agree with one idea, that idea might be put down simply because there is that 1 out of 100 that finds it offfensive and hence voice of 1 is more important than the 99 others.

If common ground can be found, then political correctness could be ok, but good luck on that one. One example is the Pledge of Alegiance. Few people have a problem with the sentence "under god". That could easily be solved that during the pledge, those who are atheists, just simply ignore saying that word during the pledge. That way, neither those 99 are offended and the one that is an atheist is not offended.

Should the political correctness be continued in it's current form, there will no longer be a need for elections for various proposals and political candidates, but rather that 1 out of 100 is more important.

Those that really want political correctness should just go to places like Cuba, China, Vietnam, North Korea. Why? Because in those countries, those who are politically incorrect and disagree with the government are usually eliminated and hence the rest are afraid of saying anything. Yes, it is called communism.

In the democratic world, being politically correct can mean your job or some form of lawsuit, in a communist/fascist world, it certainly means jail time or a death sentence.

I read the News of the Weird by Chuck Shepherd. He takes newspaper articles from all over the world. I recall there was one where a woman (ONE woman) didn't like a sign so the company had to take it down. In a school in Britain, the children were about to do the play 'the Three Little Pigs,' however, out of fear of offending the Muslims (who don't eat pigs), they changed the title to 'The Three Little Doggies!' The Muslims of the community laughed at that, saying that whilst they don't eat pigs, they do not have a problem with them.

A schoolboard in Colorado banned Christmas decorations and removed Christmas from their calendar, but kept an Islamic holiday.

Most of the Western World celebrates some type of Christmas, whether they are Christians or not. The Islamic holiday, on the other hand, is celebrated ONLY by the Muslims - and yet that one won out!
