President Obama renames world's geographic directions for the sake of world peace

President Barack Obama today announced that as leader of the world's sole super power, he has, by Presidential decree, and in the interests of peace, decided that the world's geographic directions will no longer be named "North, East, South and West", or as children everywhere call them, "Never Eat Shredded Wheat".

In his statement from the Oval Office in the newly renamed Yellow Wing of the White House, Obama said;

"We need only look to our own history to see that 'North' and 'South' are not only part of the terminology of cartography but also of conflict. America has been involved in at least three wars between the North and the South; our own Civil War, the war between North and South Korea and the war between North and South Vietnam."

"The conflict between North and South Korea has never officially ended, and today, the world is faced with several conflicts, like those between North and South Sudan, North and South Yemen and North and South Dakota."

"The words themselves, 'North, East, South and West', are of Germanic origin, and the Germans, as we all know, are a notoriously bellicose people. In the interests of peace, let us turn now to the beliefs of the original peoples of this, our great land. For them, each direction was associated with the colors of corn: Green, Red, White, and Yellow."

"We have all heard how North, or as they are now known, 'Green' Korea said last Saturday that it would begin a 'sacred war' against 'White' Korea and the United States at 'any time necessary', in response to our joint military exercises in the region."

"Today, I issue an invitation to the leaders of Green and White Korea to a historic summit meeting, to be held in Yellow Virginia, to discuss how now to move from the old divide of 'North' and 'South' to a new era of 'Green and White' peace and prosperity."

CNN lead news anchor Anderson Cooper noted, "As sure as the sun rises in the Red, Obama has, with this bold stroke of renaming the directions, finally earned that Nobel Peace Prize prematurely awarded to him last year."
