Progressives would have us strapped in our chair forcing us to listen to their rhetoric.
Have you noticed how most of the people who are so against the ban feature on this site, are Progressives who mostly reside in the Democrat Party.
You see, Progressives are in the minority in this nation, but because of the majority of Liberal media, people are conditioned to think that they are the majority. THEY ARE NOT!
Liberals tried to force talk radio to allow equal time because the Liberal radio shows had no ratings and could never stay on the air. You see, they want to force their ideology on people no matter the fact we don't want to be forced to hear it. The Left hates the free market whereby the people will decide what we want to listen to....... and it's not the politically correct Big Brother telling us all how to think.
So since they are the minority, they must try and push their political correct ideology through the courts, through talk radio, through debate sites, and they want to deny the people the right to say no!
Newsflash..... we don't all agree with your political correct extremism, and we do not want to be forced to listen to it.
The ban feature allows us the right to tune out your deception, your vulgarity, your insults, your extremism!
You have all the right in the world to free speech but you have NO RIGHT to force others to listen to it.
You use the ban feature to prevent people from presenting counter arguments. It is you that is trying to force people to listen to your rhetoric. Every single thing you complain about is something that you do. It is pure insanity. What's next? Are you going to complain about us calling ourselves FromWithin?
Tell me how my debates are FORCING you to read them. If you don't like what I say, just don't bother reading my debates or responding to them. IT'S THAT SIMPLE!
We are talking about a person's right to ban people, from HIS created debate, who are being vulgar, childish, deceptive, or just plain insulting and disruptive and monopolizing the debate.
To take away our right to ban these people, is encouraging more of the same. When a person knows he will be banned for certain behavior, many times the person will try to do better and who knows..... maybe he won't even get banned.
What a novel idea. It's called (as I like to say) shamming irresponsibility to encourage responsibility.
If you don't like our responses don't read them. If you don't like the copied debates, don't read them. We aren't forcing you to read our responses. Again, it goes both ways and you never seem to realize it.
If the website was run by you it would just be your rhetoric without any opposing opinions. That's exactly what your title described. You don't ban people for the reasons you listed.

I don't read deceptive insulting responses from my debates. I BAN THEM FOR THAT EXACT REASON! This way I dont have to waste my time reading them.
I choose not to go to debates written by deceptive people. What a novel idea! I would have no problem with any person banning my posts on their created debates but guess what?
When I actually speak to the issues without being deceptive, most people on this site do everything in their power to get me to respond. Gee, i wonder why?

Well, to most people, the point of my many responses is very clear.
When I enter this site and I see i have 3 new posts to my argument, I must go to the debate and find out it is the usual mindless insecure Progressives who are once again insulting my every word. They stalk my every post and my every debate, not to debate my opinons, but rather to insult me.
If you can't understand why sane people would want the right to ban these idiots, then you obvious are one in the same.

Just one simple example is when Democrats deny supporting no restriction abortions of viable babies for any reason up to birth. It is FACT that they are supporting this inhumanity when they vote for the people keeping it legal. But so many of you deny it!
I have better things to do then play pretend debating where people are not honest with what they support. When we debate people like that, we are truly wasting our time. The ban feature instantly stops the deception in it's tracks.
If I can't ban deceptive people in my own created debates, their posts are constantly put in my face and forcing me to read them!

Yes, you are wrong. Voting for someone does not mean you support everything they support, most democratic politicians are not responsible for legislation that allows for no restriction abortions, and even those democrats that are in states with more relaxed abortion laws don't necessarily support late term abortions. These generalizations and your refusal to allow people who disagree with those generalizations to respond to you is why no one will take your arguments seriously.
No one could ever force anyone to listen.Listening is a mental process that requires understanding or at least trying to understand. If someone doesn't want to understand then they are not listening.
Now I agree with banning insults and arguments that personally attack someone rather than respond to the argument. I find those types of arguments useless. Why does someone ever feel the need to insult? Everyone is entitled to their opinion and insults bring nothing.
But then again banning does not remove the argument. Banning should be for people who are harassing. Continuously responding when you decided not respond.
Progressives try to fix government, and while that is well intentioned, we would be much better off by limiting government and trying to fix things ourselves .
they do try to make government bigger, but their intent is to fix it .conservatives also try to make government bigger, their intent is also to fix it .
Democrats want to TRANSFORM Government to their ideology, not fix it. Republicans for the most part want to keep our Government of the people, by the people, for the people. They want the constitution upheld and not changed with the culture.
You can call it what you like, the bottom line is that the Left wants a Socialist Government, and believes it knows better than the "people" how we should spend our money, and knows better how we should all speak.

1) You smear everyone and anyone who disagrees with you as being Progressive or Democrat. There indeed are independents, there indeed are people at every stage of the political spectrum on this site and you lump anyone not as conservative as yourself as simply Progressive.
2) You control whether you're in your chair or not. You log on. You can log off. you can also pre-ban almost the whole site if you want.
3) You literally paper this site with conservative topics. Between FromWithin and SaintNow the majority of the live debates tend to come from one of the two of you.
4) What the hell are you doing on a debate website if you don't want people to debate you?
