Prolifers: Is it right to post indecent/porno images of babies online?

Recently a member of this site, who shall remain nameless, posted an image of  a dismembered and disemboweled feotus following an abortion. Prolifers believe these are babies. If I were to post a picture of a mutilated, nude, baby online people would think I were a monster and I'd probably be arrested. It would arguably be pornographic being that the child was nude. So... is it right for pro-lifers to post these sort of pictures of 'babies' to make their point?

Well I haven't seen these images... are you talking about the video she posted in NSFW?

I didn't watch the video because it was obvious that it was going to be disgusting (and I'm not saying that because of my views on abortion, but rather because the thought of a ripped up, bloody alien looking thing seems gross).

It's the internet... there's images of all kinds of nasty stuff... having said that I would hope that here on CD there would be a warning ahead of time so those who don't want to see it, don't have to. The video was posted in NSFW and there was a clear warning on the video so anyone that clicked play had to know what they were getting into.

Also... I think that any sort of porn contend posted on CD would be inappropriate but I fail to see how images of an abortion can be viewed as pornographic?

Come on Atrag... if I or anyone else posted that you would have never said a word about it. You only made this debate because it was posted by Dana. (if that's who you're talking about, and I assume it is. If not... then my bad)

If someone takes a nude image of a child without the parents consent then, in the UK, there is a strong argument for it being an indecent image of a child.

It's not right or wrong, objectively. Should it be illegal? That's a good question. The answer depends entirely on what you're fighting for. If you're fighting for the rights of that fetus as a person, then it should be tried as pornography and as gore for obvious reasons. If you are under the assumption that it's not a human life, then maybe not so much, it's still gore though. Just as much gore as a person coughing up tons of blood would be. No one wants to see that, and pornography/gore filters should block that kind of thing.
