To all christians on createdebate, from an atheist. I just want to tell you that I think the user who created this debate is extremely insulting. He uses a belittling tactic to present his arguments against your faith, and I encourage my fellow agnostics and atheists to not take part in this particular type of "debating." Let's have a respectful debate about religion! :) This is the militant atheism promoted in public schools today, with Richard Dawkins the Molested who cannot condemn "mild molestation" of children by their school teachers as he and his classmates were subjected to it and he seems to think it helped him become a good productive atheist doing nothing to advance science and holding onto many archaic anti-science positions which real scientists who are atheists, agnostics, or believers in God continue working together to understand why things are the way they are and learning to use the discoveries beneficially. People like Dawkins the low paid research biologist who found that he can sell a lot of books by talking hatefully toward God, the Bible, and Christians and then was anointed Professor and High Priest of Militant Atheism are held on a pedestal by folks like Slappy who think they can follow in Dawkins' dirty footsteps and profit from their animosity against God. I think I'm being respectful toward you here, the things I'm saying are true and easily documented, and really I'm even defending Slappy a little since it is understandable that he would harbor a lot of bitterness from his background and his wrong doings in the years of his anger as he set out in rebellion against Catholicism trying to prove he is justified. It's hard for somebody like that to swallow their pride knowing it will make them kinda sick to their stomach. I really don't know of any Christians outside of this site who believe that Atheists don't see beauty in life. I mean you'll always get your....crazies...but I've never had a discussion with a Christian who thinks that. They may feel the need to preach about God but that's a bit different. The world and heavens is a beautiful place, it's the close-minded, I think, who suffer for not really seeing it. If you had to choose between what you think is most beautiful, would you thinking seeing things through a telescope (celestial bodies) or seeing things through a microscope (earthen origin), or electron microscope, is more beautiful? There's a place more beautiful than anything you can see in this universe or anything you can imagine. It's where a river of living water flows, the tree of life is in eternal bloom, and the streets are paved with gold so pure it's transparent. The beauty and wonders are far beyond what can only begin to be described, and far better than anything you or I can imagine. This whole universe is falling apart, but even in it's fallen state the beauty God created it in remains. The corruption of death and decay cannot overcome the beauty of God's handiwork in creation, and will not be present in the land where the the Highway of Holiness is not open to anything that makes a lie. Yes the bible has some hypocrisy and I can say that as a Christian. I believe that when following any religion you are still able to believe and do whatever you like. I am 100% Christian. Have been brought up Christian all my life but I don't believe that God created the world. You must be born again or you cannot see the kingdom of heaven. You're not a Christian until you are born of the Spirit of God. You cannot be born of the Spirit of God if you will not agree with God regarding your sinful condition and the deserved consequence of eternal separation from God in the fire of Hell. You cannot be born of the Spirit of God if you will not seek His mercy based on the facts of your need and His righteousness, and the fact that God the Son paid your price in death and rose bodily from the dead and is willing to forgive you if you ask God in His name to save you from your sin, save you from dying, save you from Hell. Please try to understand this to Christians GOD is life. Christians love GOD more than anything else. But you didn't know this neither can you understand this. And so I feel sorry for them. Life is too short to squander it worshiping supernatural imaginary friends who don't exist. And it's BIOLOGY that is life. Not gods. I am a Biologist. And, yeah, sorry...but Science DOES oppose god, since we feel we have no need for him to explain life and our planet and Mankind and our place in the Cosmos. Actually, let me be more precise, since there IS no god we cannot oppose a cipher, but we oppose the idea that a god can supplant Biology anc Cosmology as an explanatory paradigm for us and our origins and our place in the Grand Scheme. If the religious folks would just admit that they believe and that their holy book is a book of fables and myths, and NOT in any way a science book, then all would be well with us. We do not begrudge them their beliefs, no matte how misguided they are. But when they DENY our science and call it claptrap and instead try and posit such an absurd fable as Genesis as a worthy replacement for science, well then, the gloves come off and we are compelled to fight fire with fire. Slappy was raised Catholic, saw the lies and manipulating tactics of Catholicism, felt he was being deprived of sin's pleasures and went off into long sexual and dopeheaded excursions and now is full of bitterness and animosity toward God. God has to knock him down a peg before he'll listen, and maybe even then he will not listen. I think he's going to wake up in Hell soon.....and by soon I mean within 100 years which is very soon compared to eternity. The Apostolic Fathers, Apologists and Polemicists were all quoting from the New Testament between 95-325 A.D. The New Testament existed by this time and was clearly their source. So we have huge portions of the New Testament quoted early on. In fact, if we had no copies of the original New Testament writings we could still assemble much of the New Testament just from quotes by the Apostolic Father and Apologists alone. Copies of Copies of Copies Unbelieving critics often state that we only have copies of copies of copies of copies of the New Testament. But, thank goodness we do! (And we have so much more than that). In fact, consider that there are only 10 copies of Julius Caesar's Gallic Wars written 1000 years later, 7 copies of Pliny the Younger's Historical Works written 750 years after the original, and around 643 copies of Homer's Iliad written 500 years later (Muncaster 2000, 27). In contrast we have well over 5,000 Greek texts written early on supporting the New Testament writings. And it doesn't include the thousands of supporting manuscripts in other languages adding up to over 24,000. After all, they claim not to worry about their shitty lives here, since their sky god has an afterlife awaiting them. Whereas we know there is no such thing as an Afterlife, so we hold every moment of life more dear than they. This was the philosophy of the Epicureans as well. Which is what my philosophy on life is as well. So to all your fundies...shut your yaps on this topic. I do not want to hear how we do not value life. We Do!! More than you. And we don't need no stinking sky gods to do it. LOL Not really, Jesus said the deceptions would be that thick. And that even the elect could be deceived. Much of the Gospels and letters are spent on the topic. Even many paragraphs beginning with "be not deceived ... " The heart is deceitful, and people seek to have their ears tickled. Being clear so others realize deception and exercise their choice of free will is part of being salt, and light in a dark, and rotting world! The meek will inherit the earth. We will be put back on the earth and us simple folk of faith will inherit the earth after the wicked made it desolate and destroyed themselves and God shakes them off the earth and they are swallowed up from the ground. . . 1

God says He is omnipresent(everywhere not only in the sky) plus omnipotent and omniscience.............. But some morons refer to Him as sky god. Atheist claim to be intellectuals but cannot simply understand Omnipresent. Anyone who starts off a debate with saying sky god(also inappropriate spelling) trying to relate to the christian God has an invalid debate. YOU MUST ASK QUESTIONS APPROPRIATELY ACCORDING TO OUR BELIEF; THEN YOU ARE RELATING TO US. Now i don't know any sky god so i can't Argue over it and i presume all those arguing in favor of christianity are not arguing for God but a sky god. Unkown to me |
