Well that is a difficult question to answer , seeing how I have European and Native blood lines. IF a person calls me a "cracker" This means they are ignorant of my ethnic back ground and are judging me by what I appear to be. Immensely. I see it about the same as calling a black person a nigger. They are both racial slurs, but the only reason society reacts more to the word nigger is because it's not politically correct to offend black people, but it's OK to offend white people all you want.

When I hear The Black Panthers saying it, it puts a burr in my butt, other than that, it really doesn't. Just depends on how it's used I guess.

I'm "white" and I've never been insulted by it. Most people think cracker literally has to do with the bland white coloring of saltine crackers, but it actually refers to cracking a whip. Therefore, the white person in question is being called a master, or whip cracker. I do not want to be referred to as a master or someone who approves of anything slavery related. However, since most people think it simply refers to saltines, I'm fine with it. Those things are delicious.

I am black and there are a lot of people that call me that word because they say I act white. However I am not offended by the word Nigger/Nigga because anyone can be them they mean dirty or unclean.

I'd rather be a nice snack then a nigger, a term used for poor irish people at one point then used a name for dogs then black people.
